Training at Butterfly Mansion was a great time for Yoriichi. Sadly, this small era in Yoriichi's life faded quickly, he had to go on missions again. Yoriichi, Zenitsu, and the boar guy were all assigned to one mission. With a pillar.
Yoriichi was content with this meanwhile Zenitsu and the boar guy jumped up and down.
"GOING WITH A PILLAR- THIS MISSION MUST BE TOO HARD!!" Zenitsu screeched, clawing at his bed sheets.
"Zenitsu, if there is a pillar, it means we will be perfectly safe-"
"Tanjiro... Did you just say 'we'?" Yoriichi could see the smile forming on Zenitsu's face without looking at it.
The boar guy's name was actually Inosuke, Zenitsu had told Yoriichi. Inosuke was jumping on his bed and screaming gibberish.
"Please, Inosuke, calm down."
"AAAH GANPACHIROO AAAAAH!!"
Yoriichi hopes the pillar can tolerate these two fools.
They arrived at the train station, where their mission was to be.
"Hey, Tanjiro, Inosuke, we probably need to hide our swords..." Zenitsu carefully eyed the guards.
"Why?" Yoriichi wouldn't hit innocent humans.
"Tanjiro, I can't even get mad at you anymore."
Sigh.
"Okay, we'll hide our swords. Inosuke, do you have somewhere to put them--?"
Yoriichi looked at Inosuke's outfit. It wasn't the usual demon slayer uniform.
"Don't look down on the God of Mountains!!" Inosuke turned around proudly to reveal his swords behind his back. It was very visible.
"YOU STUPID PIG-- YOU CAN SEE IT FROM A MILE AWAY!!" Zenitsu shouted at him. They were attracting attention that wasn't related to swords at all.
"Um, Inosuke, that's fine. Let's get on the train--"
"STOP RIGHT THERE! HALT!"
Oh, goodness.
Running for it, Yoriichi grabbed both Zenitsu and Inosuke and fled for the train. All the guards saw was Yoriichi stretching his leg back, a puff of dust along with the flash of a checkered green haori, and nothing.
Apparently, Yoriichi had choked the both of them. Yoriichi awkwardly loomed above them as they were on all fours, clutching at their throats.
"I'm sorry."
Zenitsu coughed violently.
"IT'S--" Cough. " ALL--" Cough. "ALRIGHT--" Cough.
Not knowing what to do, Yoriichi sat down and waited for them to get better.
"Delicious!!"
Someone had shouted. Yoriichi looked at the direction of the shout and followed it, leaving Zenitsu and Inosuke on the floor.
"DELICIOUS!!"
What--
"DELICIOUS!!!"
The person shouting was a demon slayer in a white cloak decorated with flames from the bottom. He was probably a Pillar. Noticing Yoriichi, he shouted once again, "DELICIOUS!!!!"
"Ahaha, what a good meal you're having..." Yoriichi eyed the pillar's bento boxes piling up in a corner.
"It really is indeed!! Amazing job to the chef, I say!!" The pillar had a loud voice and soon the whole train was staring at him.
"Come, sit with me, young boy who met Muzan in person!!" He patted the seat next to him. Yoriichi sat down, somewhat uncertain. He could feel Zenitsu's and Inosuke's eyes burning into the pillar's face.
"Oh, I see!! You are Tsuchinoe rank now!! Good job!!" The pillar had introduced himself and Yoriichi did too.
"That's right. Now, how have your experiences with demon slayer--"
"You should become my Tsuguko!! I'll look after you!!" Kyojuro was positively beaming, meanwhile Zenitsu was looking enragedly murderous.
"Oh, that's--"
"What color is your Nichirin blade, young man?!"
"Black."
The man burst into deafening laughs.
"I'll train you harder, then!!"
"I-- I see."
Kyojuro grinned and watched outside of the window.
On the opposite seats, Inosuke was hanging out of the train and shrieking.
"IT'S SO FAST!! GAHAGHAH, I WANT TO HAVE A RACE TO SEE WHO'S FASTER!!"
Zenitsu was having trouble heaving him back into the train.
"STOP, YOU IDIOT!! THERE ARE LIMITS TO IDIOCITY!!"
Kyojuro brought his gaze back to the boys.
"Don't do that, it's dangerous!! I don't know where the demon will appear!!" He watched Zenitsu's useless attempts at pulling Inosuke back in.
Zenitsu whipped his head back.
"What?"
He was looking ready to leave earth.
"WE- WE WEREN'T GOING TO THE DEMON, BUT THIS WAS THE PLACE THE DEMON IS??"
"There's a total of 40 people vanishing on this train, so I was sent here to vanquish the demon!!" Kyojuro smiled at him.
Right then, the conductor had come. He had a sad, thin face. He clipped their tickets. Yoriichi thought he was suspicious. He carried a faint demon smell.
Kyojuro's smile faltered.
"Mister, please excuse the fact I am carrying a sword. Do not ask about it."
Oh, well. He is a pillar anyway. Yoriichi will let him get this demon by himself.
The demon was squatting smack in the middle of people.
"Oh, big guy!! So you were the one killing the people! Hiding your demon blood arts, too! However," Kyojuro raised his sword at the demon. "You will not touch these innocent humans!"
Yoriichi saw Kyojuro's muscles tense.
In a flash of red flames, Kyojuro sped forward and sliced its head easily with a calm air.
Yoriichi wasn't very shocked. Pillars were pillars, anyway. But Zenitsu and Inosuke weren't calm or steady at all.
"BELOVED HASHIRA, PLEASE MAKE ME YOUR DISCIPLE TOO!!"
"ME TOO!!"
They crowded Kyojuro, shining with admiration.
"I'll take in every one of you!!" Kyojuro seemed to radiate light.
"WOOHOOO!!"
They danced around him like some kind of monkey ritual while Yoriichi just stared and listened to their monkey laughing.
