Everyone present at the meeting looked bothered and scared at the sight of the deadly disease that contaminated Ubuyashiki.
However, Ubuyashiki took, apparently, no notice of his weak body and smiled genuinely.
"Welcome... I hope every one of you are doing good today."
Tengen, who was on the other side of Yoriichi, glanced beside him, seemingly shocked. His lips parted, as if about to speak, but closed it from a glare in the corner of the yard. Giyuu.
Muichiro scooted a little closer to Yoriichi.
"We are here yet again to discuss the recent appearance of Muzan. And, Muichiro, we have talked about this also in the previous pillar meeting, if you have forgotten."
Muichiro's eyes smiled.
"No need, Oyakata-sama. I... surprising remember this time."
Ubuyashiki returned his smile. "Someone must have helped you find what you've lost, then, Muichiro. I'm glad to see whatever ailed you has finally dissipated."
"Continuing, Kamado Tanjiro has seen and approached Muzan again, which implies that he is very ahead of us. Tanjiro, do you have news?"
The pressure of nine pairs of eyes dawned on him.
Tengen finally burst out a sentence after keeping quiet for way more than he wanted.
"SO THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED WHEN WE WERE WAITING FOR YOU TO COME BACK AFTER CHECKING NEZUKO?"
Yoriichi nodded.
Mitsuri clapped a hand to her mouth.
Giyuu stared at Yoriichi in disbelief.
Ubuyashiki's smile flickered. Then came back, twinkling like stars.
"Is that so? You've done so well, Kamado Tanjiro. It is best if you rest up more. Go to Butterfly Mansion and have a good nap."
Giyuu stood up.
"I would like to have a word with Tanjiro..."
Ubuyashiki smiled, nodding.
They walked into a empty corridor away from the yard.
Giyuu's face was full of worry.
"Tanjiro... You've grown very strong. Nezuko is also. But you know what this really means... correct?"
Yoriichi lowered his head.
"I want Nezuko to be the safest."
"If it's what you say, I'll protect her with my life, Kamado Tanjiro."
This... was not what Yoriichi anticipated.
He had not thought of the Kakushi dragging him, nearly tearing his clothes taking him to the mansion.
The Hashira...
They were devising a plan.
But that was a little bit obvious?
It turned out that Kanao was there at the meeting to show Yoriichi the way back to Butterfly Estate.
Comparing the two, Yoriichi was now slightly taller than Kanao. Yoriichi happily exclaimed this to her.
She fiddled a bit in her pocket.
"Oh... That's right..."
Kanao looked at the ground, embarrassed.
"I... I didn't bring my coin today to show you... I can change and I can make my own... decisions."
Yoriichii looked at her. Yes, she did seem somewhat different today.
"You did great." He tried to smile at her gently.
It wasn't that he couldn't smile... It was just that the muscles on his face had a mind of its own.
Her face pinkened.
Kanao, forgetting, went in her pocket once again.
"Oh..."
Arriving back at the estate, Yoriichi laid on his bed after a few rice balls in his tummy.
He felt so tired today... like he hadn't slept in 3 days.
His eyelids pulled over his eyes--
It was a sunny day.
M̷i̷c̷h̷i̷k̷a̷t̷s̷u̷ and Yoriichi were playing in a field of green grass, the sky a pale blue.
It was so beautiful, familiar, and kind. The land itself seemed to radiate comfort.
Yoriichi, laughing, followed M̷i̷c̷h̷i̷k̷a̷t̷s̷u̷ up a hill.
M̷i̷c̷h̷i̷k̷a̷t̷s̷u̷ sat down and stared at the clouds that came by. Yoriichi sat down next to him.
After a long comfortable silence, when all the clouds had disappeared from the great blue sky, M̷i̷c̷h̷i̷k̷a̷t̷s̷u̷ stood up.
"Brother? Are you leaving? Can I go with you?"
M̷i̷c̷h̷i̷k̷a̷t̷s̷u̷ didn't stop. He kept walking away.
Yoriichi stood up quickly and went after him.
"Don't... We'll be together."
For some reason, his legs lagged back behind M̷i̷c̷h̷i̷k̷a̷t̷s̷u̷. This has never happened before.
M̷i̷c̷h̷i̷k̷a̷t̷s̷u̷ seemed to be getting more speed every second without even running. Until not even Yoriichi could keep up.
Tripping over his feet, he watched the back of M̷i̷c̷h̷i̷k̷a̷t̷s̷u̷ walk away at a impossible speed.
"BROTHER!" Yoriichi cried out.
The peaceful green hill and calm sky turned upside down.
M̷i̷c̷h̷i̷k̷a̷t̷s̷u̷'s hair grew longer.
His clothes turned into a purple patterned kimono.
His presence turned demon-like.
