Ocean||JJ Maybank X Reader

Chapter 6:

You wake up and do your daily morning routine since you were going to Sarah's house for a girls day with her and Kie. You got to Sarah's house, you went in and found her and Kie in the kitchen.
"Hey guys!" You said with a smile
"Hey!" They said in sync
"So what are we doing today?" You asked
"Maybe to some shopping at the mall and go out for lunch!" Sarah suggested
"That sounds good to me!" You said
"Me too!" Kie said
You guys were just chit chatting until Rafe came in the kitchen, you knew he was looking at you but you didn't acknowledge him. You and Rafe used to date and that was something only the kooks and the ocean knew. It wasn't a bad relationship you both loved each other then Rafe started going to parties a lot and started changing into someone you didn't know anymore and someone you didn't love. It got bad to the point where you would argue all the time and that's when you started talking to the ocean, you rant about all the arguments to it.
"Hey Sarah. Me, Topper, and Kelce are having a bonfire later if you wanna bring your pouge friends." Rafe said
"Woah Rafe Cameron wants to hang out with the pouges!" Kie said sarcastically
"All my other friends canceled and Topper suggested it." Rafe said
"Yeah we'll see Rafe." Sarah told him
Rafe walked away and you guys left for the mall.
"Sarah we aren't actually gonna go to that bonfire right?" You asked her
"I don't know, maybe. Why?" She replied
"I just feel that's gonna be a bad idea." You said
"Yeah I agree with Y/n." Kie said
"It can't be that bad." Sarah said
You guys had been shopping for a while when you got a phone call from JJ.
"Hello?" You said
"Hey. Uh what are you doing right now?" JJ asked with his voice cracking like he was upset.
"I'm at the mall right now with Sarah and Kie. What's up?" You said
"Oh nothing. I'll let you go, have fun." He said
"JJ what's wrong?" You asked
"Nothing. Don't worry about it." He said
"Meet me at my secret spot by the ocean in five minutes ." You told him because you knew he was upset about something
"Okay." He said
Then you hung up the phone and told Kie and Sarah that something came up and you had to leave. You quickly ran to your secret spot and JJ was already there.
"Hey!" You say trying to catch your breath
He doesn't say anything.
"JJ?" You said
"When were you going to tell me you dated Rafe?" He asked
You were taken back by his question.
"How did you-?" You were cut off
"It doesn't matter how I found out. It matters that you didn't tell me." He said
"JJ it was a relationship that ended on bad terms. It wasn't the best and I never wanted to talk about it. I was upset all the time and that's when I started talking to the ocean. It really opened up my way of relationships and when to know I was being treated right. I'm sorry." You told him
JJ didn't say anything he just sat there. Hours passed and you guys just sat there in silence, it was nice to just enjoy JJ's presence but you could tell he was still upset. But you couldn't tell if it was because you didn't tell him or it was because Rafe treated you bad.
"JJ. It's getting late I'm gonna head home now." You told him
You went home and fell asleep hoping that tomorrow would be better.
