Chapter 8:

You and JJ got to the party which you were kinda unsure about since there were so many people there.
"Hey you gonna be okay if I walk away for a bit?" JJ asked
"Yea!" You told him
JJ walked away from you and went off somewhere so you went over to Topper since he was the first person you saw.
"Hey Top!" You said
"Hey Y/n! How are you?!" He asked
"Good! What about you?" You replied
"I'm good actually. Rafe and I had a falling out but that's been pretty nice cause I don't have to deal with his drama anymore you know." Topper said
"Oh. I'm sorry hear that, you guys have been best friends since you were little. If you don't mind me asking but what happened?" You said
"Long story short but we got into a fight because he disrespecting you and I wasn't gonna let him do that." Topper said
"Oh what was he saying?" You asked
"Um that's a story for another time." Topper said
"Okay?" You replied
You walked away from Topper and you ran into someone which made them spill their drink on you.
"I am so sorry!" You quickly apologized
"It's okay don't worry about it!" they said
You looked up to realize it was Pope.
"Omg Pope! I'm sorry let me get you another one!" You insisted
"Y/n it's okay!" Pope replied
"No let me get you another one!" You demanded
You walked toward the cooler to get Pope another and saw JJ flirting with another girl. It didn't bother you that much you knew he was still mad at you and when he saw getting a drink he walked towards you.
"Your drinking?" He asked with his eyebrow raised
"No. I accidentally ran into Pope and spilled his drink so I was getting him another one." You said
"Mkay." JJ said and walked back to the girl
You brought the drink back to Pope who was with the rest of the pouges.
"Y/n you okay?" Kie asked
"Yea! I'm fine!" You said
You guys were talking until someone tapped you on the shoulder. You turned around and saw Topper.
"Wanna dance?" He asked as he held his hand out towards you
"Sure!" You smiled
You and Topper were having a great time, you were laughing, and in that moment you forgot about JJ completely it was like all your love troubles with him were gone. But JJ wasn't gone. He was watching you have the best time of your life dancing with Topper.
Then John B walked up to him.
"Hey bud. You alright?" He asked JJ
"Look at the she looks at him. She's never looked at me like that." JJ said
"JJ if I'm being honest I think Y/n is a great girl but I also think that if you think she's better off with someone else then you need to tell instead of hurting yourself and her." John B told him
JJ didn't say anything he just kept staring at you and Topper. Then the party was slowly coming to an end and you went to find JJ. You found him sitting by in your secret spot by the ocean.
"JJ?" You said
"Hey." He said
"You okay?" You asked him
"Y/n can we talk?" He asked
"Sure. What's up?" You said
"I can't do this anymore." He said
"Do what?" You asked him getting worried
"I can't be the reason you hold yourself back from falling in love with someone else." He said
"JJ what do you mean?" You asked
"Y/n I know you love Topper and I feel that I'm holding you back from that. I don't want to do that so this is goodbye." JJ said
"Goodbye? JJ what do you mean?" You said raising your voice from being upset.
JJ didn't say anything.
"JJ TALK TO ME!" You screamed and at this point you were balling.
JJ just stood there. You were angry and upset you were hitting him and he was just standing there. Then he walked away and you were left crying. You looked at the ocean.
"Well ocean me and JJ are over." You said.
