Now very close to her, he grabs her by the waist under the water, his confident stare making him look so attractive but, knowing that people will see them from the beach, she's not sure that now is the right moment and place to give in.

"You don't know who won." She says, trying to delay him.

"I won earlier." He retorts smirking, clearly ready to claim his prize.

"Hey guys!"

They both turn to the newcomer and she steps back from Aomine as a reflex.

"Kagami? What the hell are you doing here?" Aomine asks annoyed.

"Um... enjoying the ocean, you moron. What else?"

"Arghh... I meant how did you get here so quickly, we didn't see you coming."

This interruption couldn't have happened at a worst time for him, he was so close.

"I guess you weren't paying attention."

"Damn it." He mutters.

"Am I interrupting?" Kagami wonders definitely feeling an unwelcome vibe from his friend.

"Not at all. I was going back to the beach." She says smiling.

"I'm not chasing you away, am I?" Kagami asks, smiling at her for the first time.

Like with Aomine divulging this hidden treasure, she's pleasantly surprised when seeing his genuine smile.

"Of course not. I just need a break after racing."

"Racing? Who won?"

"What do you mean who won? Obviously I did!" Aomine interferes.

"He won fair and square. I didn't let him win, he gets grumpy if I do."

"Haha! You're totally right!" Kagami laughs with her.

"Hey! I'm here you know!" Aomine interjects.

"I'm just teasing you." She says clawing onto his arm.

She likes to tease him but she can see his behaviour changing with Kagami around. It's as though he was losing some of his confidence. She wonders where that's coming from.

"Right..." He calms down straight away, just happy to have her on his arm.

Somehow he feels suspicious with Kagami around and wonders if he could jeopardise his chances to score.

"It should be lunch time soon. Let's just go back." Kagami suggests.

"But you just got here. You should enjoy the ocean." She says.

"I'd rather hanging out with you." His charming smile is not missed by Aomine who is now convinced he has a rival.

She likes the attention which gives her a confidence boost.

"Let's go then."

Back on the beach, Aomine picks one of the towels he picked up earlier, ready to wrap her in it, already grinning at the thought of being close to her but when he turns around, he sees Kagami making his towel fly around her, reducing the space between him and Satori. Damn him!

But he's reassured when he sees her putting some distance between them and can't help but feeling good about it.

"Thanks Kagami, but that's your towel. Aomine got me one." She smiles, walking to Aomine who wraps her in and, throwing a victorious glare at his friend, he rubs her arms vigorously, too vigorously.

"I... am not... a child." She says scattered making him focus on her now.

Attention is welcomed but she literally felt like a kid being looked after by a grown-up.
