'Where is she?' Aomine thinks, trying to look around the campfire. 'I couldn't bare seeing her face lighting up at whatever he was telling her and I drank too much. Why isn't she spending time with me tonight? I need another beer. I feel so pathetic.'
"Aomine, do you wanna leave?" He looks down at a girl leaning against him. What was her name again? "Wanna go somewhere a little more private? Our villa is just round the corner." She says seductively, definitely after a good time as she strokes his chest through his shirt.
She's with no doubt his type and, on normal circumstances, he wouldn't hesitate.
But tonight, after what happened this afternoon and the amount of alcohol he has drunk, his emotions all over the place, the only person he wants to see is Satori and, to his disappointment, she's nowhere to be found.
Did she disappear with Kagami? Is it already too late to stop her?
'I should have hung out with her. At least, I would have been able to stop this.'
But, still sensitive about his new found feelings, he finds it difficult to be his old self around her. He needs time to reflect and...
"Aomine! Are you okay?" The girl asks, clawed onto his torso and seeing that he hasn't answered her generous proposition.
"I'm okay thanks. I'm just gonna look for my friend." He says, peeling the girl off of his chest and walking past her.
"Come on Aomine..." She whines as he walks away.
He finds Momoi laughing her head off with some friends.
"Hey. Have you..." His friend looks blurry. "Have you seen Satori?" He slurs.
"She was with Kagami over there." She points towards the ocean, in a darker, quieter spot. Trying to focus, he can't see them but starts to move that way regardless when he feels his arms caught and turns around. "Leave them alone." She says, seeing her friend intoxicated.
She knows that if he goes there in this state, there will be another scene and she's not keen on experiencing another similar level of tension as she did that afternoon.
"What?"
"She's after a good time. Just leave her be."
"I... I can't!" He says pulling his arm away from her grip.
"Then you need to make a decision and be honest with her and with yourself."
He sighs, frustrated because he hadn't thought that far.
He wants her to be happy and she's only after a good time. It's not like Kagami is gonna become her boyfriend and she's gonna fall in love and... wait... she could.
So what if she falls for him? That would be understandable. He's a great guy. Aomine respects him in many ways. DAMN!!
How did Kagami not see that Aomine had feelings for her? Others did, like Momoi and Kuroko.
Walking with determination in the direction shown by Momoi, he sees them laying on the sand.
Is he too late?
Their faces are away from each other. They are talking. There is still time but not much as he sees their faces getting closer.
Rushing towards them, he realises that he won't make it in time to stop this whole thing to happen and his heart is about to explode. No! She can't do this, she's his girl.
"SATORIIIII!!!"
Feeling Kagami's lips landing on hers for a split second, she pushes him away gently when she hears Aomine's shout. Her heart unexpectedly aches when she hears the struggle in his cry.
