"It's about Aomine... and Kuroo."
"Ah. Kuroo is your ex and he obviously wants you back. Am I correct?"
"Sort of. We never had anything serious. We've not even been on a date or anything. It was just... physical and I was okay keeping it this way but he wasn't. Anyway, to cut it short, he found a girlfriend and I was super happy for him but now that they broke up, I guess he... wants back in."
"But you love Aomine." God! Love? No, no, no! Haha! This is so awkward. She can't admit to Momoi that she's acting. "I see the way you look at him." Is she referring to the lustful gazes? "It's so adorable." Maybe not then.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh you don't know?" Momoi squirms is excitement, confusing Satori. "When you catch him looking at you and you look at him fondly, like it's just the two of you. You don't need to speak. You just know you care for each other."
Satori feels her heart beating strongly in her chest listening to the wonderful tales Momoi is telling her. But these are just tales.
"I have feelings for him..." Friendly... and lustful. "... but it's not love. I do care for him. He's a good guy and he treats me well."
"Okay. You tell yourself that but I know." She says rising her eyebrows. "I know it's not just him."
"What do you mean not just him?"
"I... shoot I'm not supposed to say anything. I thought he confessed and told you everything this morning."
"He said he likes me."
"Likes... loves... tomato, tomatto!"
He loves her? Like the big L?
He said he liked her and yes he's acting jealous but this will stop once they go back home. It will be back to normal, living together and seeing each other every day and lusting over each other every... damn. Realisation drops. They won't go back to the way it used to be. His feelings won't change. He's just gonna get hurt.
She needs to look for another place, although this thought surprisingly makes her heart ache.
"Sorry Momoi but I need to swim for a while."
"No problem, I'll stick around for a bit and then go back to the park with the guys."
So she goes off and swims, annoyed not to have brought her goggles. She swims to try and distract herself from the way she feels, from her aching heart at the thought of moving.
Why does she feel like that? Is it just because she likes her life at the moment and leaving would mean losing it all? The apartment is very nice and the routine she has brings her stability. Her grades are good. Training is going well. That must be it.
Or is it because he is there? Is it because she has someone to share breakfast with, to go running with, to walk home with, to be with every night, someone who is just there, soothing her. They don't have to talk, they just have each other.
She stops swimming for a while.
Could it be anyone else though? She could try and share an apartment with someone else. Why is her stomach still aching? Is it because her body knows more than she does?
Treading waters, she realises that she has gone very far and cannot see clearly where she's supposed to swim back to. Regardless, she aims for the beach.
What is it about him? It was all about his physique, and sexiness, his cold first impression yet his playful demeanour. He exudes so much lust. But Momoi is right, when he looks at her, when they're not playing, his eyes say so much.
