She doesn't care if he comes to apologise, she's getting a taxi to the train station and is going home, looking for apartments. She might stay on Akiko's carpet for a while, if she has to.
Looking at her phone for an Uber, she hears a gentle knock on the open door before it opens.
She doesn't want to confront him, stands up and grabs her bag, ready to exit the room but he stands in her way.
"Get out of my way." She says feeling her lip tremble, a mixture of sadness and anger overwhelming her. She doesn't want to cry but he's just pulling all sports of emotions out of her.
How did they get into such a dramatic situation? She doesn't understand. She didn't do anything wrong. Not to her standards and he knows her standards so was he expecting more from her? Mistake. She never lied to him about who she is. So what? What did she do?
"Where are you going?" He asks calmly noticing her bag.
"Why do you care?" She answers with spite. "MOVE!"
"I'm not letting you go." He says quietly.
"What? You're gonna physically stop me?"
He looks down.
"Don't leave because of me." Why is he being so quiet, avoiding eye contact? What is he hiding?
"You don't want me to leave but you don't want me anywhere close to you. It's going to make this weekend pretty difficult and painful. I'm not up to the challenge, sorry." She scoffs, wiping her cheek, noticing a tear has managed to escape against her will, yet still trying to look strong.
"I'm an ass." He says looking up at the ceiling, sighing loudly.
He's mortified to have made her feel this way. He never thought she'd get emotional about it. He never thought she cared so much about what he thought.
"You can say that again!" She adds still feeling like her blood is boiling.
Feeling a lump in his throat, he moves closer to her but she puts her hand forward, stopping him to go any further and looking away, as she's not sure she can keep her composure.
He takes her hand and places it on his heart. It's beating fast and strongly.
Finally looking at her, he feels so vulnerable, it scares him. He doesn't want her to go because he knows that if she goes, it will be over, he will have lost her and he will no longer have her in his life. He will probably see her during training but he will become a stranger to her. He can't think about living like that. Not anymore.
Breathing in deeply he's unable to stop his heart from aching.
"I'm so sorry Satori."
The pain she sees in his eyes, the emotion in his trembling voice... they are sincere, genuine and painful to witness.
How can she be insensitive to this view? She can't. Why is he in so much pain?
Dropping her bag to the floor, she pulls her hand away from his grasp to wrap herself around his chest, her head against his shoulder.
The relief he's experiencing is out of this world and he lands his arms around her, digging his face in her neck and squeezing her tightly.
"I'm so sorry Satori. I won't do this again. I promise." He says, as his shoulders finally relax.
"What is going on?"
"Nothing."
"Nothing?" She asks bemused pulling away from his tight embrace to look at him in the eyes. "Don't say it's nothing. I nearly left and move out. I thought you hated me. Don't say it's nothing."
