by the end of the day bam and i still haven't made it round the loop. bam has just taken a fall really hard down the back end of the loop and jeff said he has to call it quits for today.
"bella you gonna try one more time?" bam asks.
"i think so. though if i don't get it this time i'm giving up for today," i say massaging my aching joints.
"you got this bella!" he shouts while the nurse looks at his shoulder. i grab my board and run up the ramp again. i try to follow tony's advice, just think of it as one road. i try to ignore the world around me and step off. i feel my body go through the loop but i focus on the path right in front of my board until i feel the end up the ramp and jump, hitting the water. when i surface all the guys are cheering from shore and pontius has swam out to meet me.
"you good?!" he asks, concern laced in his voice, pulling me up wrapping an arm around me.
"i'm okay!" i breathe letting out what i was holding in.
"that was awesome!" he shouts. i let him go and we both swim back to shore.
"nice one bella!" bam shouts running over and hugging me.
"yeah you killed it bells!" johnny says.
"thanks guys," i say wiping my wet hands on bam.
"just ask for a towel you fool," bam complains while ryan hands me one.
"well done bella," ryan smiles. after some more congratulations everyone is ready to leave so we pile back into the van. i'm ridiculously tired so i rest my head on bams shoulder, promising myself i won't fall asleep in this van. when i'm woken by a jet of water hitting me in the face i realised i had in fact fallen asleep.
"what the heck!" i complain quietly, burying my head into bam.
"awh shes upset," i hear jeff laugh.
"yall are mean i'm tired," i say opening my eyes and pulling away from bam.
"just had to get you back," jeff smiles.
"i can't believe none of you protected me. i'm heartbroken," i joke.
"you fell asleep in a car with us. i think this is on you," johnny says. i roll my eyes with a smile at him and sit up properly in my seat. it's not my fault okay, we'd been in the hot sun all day, and i had been skating for a few hours now and bam was way to warm and comfy.
"where we going?" i yawn.
"we're going back to the hotel and getting pissed," chris says from the row behind us.
"do you guys drink every night?" i ask, resting my head on johnnys shoulder.
"pretty much!" steve-o laughs. i feel my eyes closing so lean further into johnny.
"if i sleep you have to protect me okay!" i threaten.
"i will bells," he whispers into my head.
"thanks PJ," i smile. i start to fall asleep listening to the boys all talking. it's crazy that i've only been here a few days and i already feel so safe with the guys.
"bells were back!" i hear johnny say shaking my shoulder. i force myself up and open my eyes. i see johnny getting out the car and holding his hand out to help me out. we both walk up to my room where he tells me we're going out in around two hours. i go into my room and decide to shower, i think the water will wake me up and i am kind of gross from skating all day. once i'm out i start doing my makeup when there's a knock at my door. wrapping myself in a dressing gown i open the door to johnny.
"i'm bored," he complains, walking in.
"oh hello johnny. yeah i'm good. please come in," i say sarcastically, closing the door behind him.
"what are you doing?" he asks sitting on the end of my bed.
"im doing my makeup," i say sitting in front of the vanity again.
"boring," he says getting up and going through my stuff.
"fair. though i didn't say i wasn't gonna be boring," i say.
"can i pick what you're wearing again?" he asks, flipping through my clothes.
"sure," i smile, watching him through the mirror. after today i thought things might be weird with us, but i'm glad it's not.
"i'm surprised you did the loop today," he says.
"really? i knew i didn't want to give up," i explain. id never been one to give up without a good try.
"no. not that you'd give up just, even bam didn't get it, he's our resident pro skater," johnny says.
"well tony gave me advice for it and it actually did help," i smile. i see johnny pause for a second.
"well he does know what he's doing," he says.
"yeah. though skating with bam was good too. we kind of helped each other," i explain.
"here. you should wear this," he smiles, bringing over a black and green plaid body con short dress picnic like dress.
"sure okay," i smile. when we're ready we go down to the reception to see everyone outside cheering for bam and ryan having a foot race down the sidewalk. after that we go to a nearby bar and start drinking. the boys drink a lot. for everyone one drink i'm having they're having 3. i don't mind it, though i kind of feel like a mom looking after them. it then got to the point of bad ideas.
"what if we dressed as panda and ran through the streets?" a suggestion from ryan.
"what if we fully waxed everything off of someone?" from weeman.
"what if we got my butt pierced?" from steve-o.
oh come on steve-o.
