we drive to a random convenience store where i help bam get into a straightjacket.
"that feel okay?" i ask with a smile.
"yeah it's okay," he responds. me, knox and ryan get dressed in nurses uniforms and jeff explains the bit.
"okay so what's gonna happen is, knox you'll get out the van and ask someone nearby for directions. then bam you'll jump out the back door and run away. while ryan and arabella chase you and johnny you're gonna pull the van out and speed out to catch up. okay?" jeff asks. we all nod. johnny jumps out the van when a man in the car next pulls in.
"excuse me this is 202 right?" he asks, "how would i get to the 322? i need to get to 95."
the guy nods and starts to explain then bam jumps out the back of the van and hits the ground running with me and ryan jumping out behind him.
"fuck he got out!" ryan shouts.
"start the van!" i shout as we both run after him. we run for about 5 minutes until johnny pulls up next to us in the van. i help bam back onto the van while we drive back around to pick jeff up.
"that guy got his whole family back in the car and sped away!" jeff laughs loudly. we do the same thing about 2 more times before we decide to call it quits. it's super warm and bam is sweating. i help him out of the vest and we drive back to the hotel. i lay against johnny while we drive. jeff gets a call about 10 minutes into the drive and answers.
"my head hurts," i complain as johnny brushes his hand through my hair.
"did you take your medicine today?" he asks.
"yeah this morning," i say.
"honey. you're meant to take them every four hours. we've been out for like 6," he rolls his eyes.
"we were busy," i complain, not wanting to slow down the group.
"did you not bring them?" he asks.
"no i didn't think we'd be out that long," i say. i didnt, i knew filming would probably take a couple of hours but i didn't think we'd have to travel so far.
"we can take a nap when we get in. i'll sort your meds and some food," he smiles.
"oh no you don't have to. i'll just have to skip out on whatever we're doing later," i say, not wanting to burden him anymore then i have.
"no i will because i'll be lonely and i should probably not drink tonight. last night killed me," he laughs a little.
"you have other friends stupid," i smile.
"i don't like them as much as i like you," he smiles.
"hey we can hear you!" bam complains from the backseat.
"good. y'all are annoying," johnny laughs.
"what?! even me?!" ryan complains.
"especially you," he smiles.
"okay bye!" i hear jeff say from the front seat. "dunn, rick says we have everything for the snake river jump, you wanna do it today?"
"we can do," ryan says.
"oh man i don't wanna miss that," i say.
"i thought your head hurt honey," johnny says.
"not enough to make me miss ryan jumping a river on a crappy bike," i laugh.
"oh yeah i wouldn't miss that," bam laughs.
"i am however gonna take a nap on the way there so you have to protect me," i say to johnny.
"i will," he smiles softly. i lay my weight onto him and close my eyes, falling asleep easily.
i wake up to johnny shaking my shoulder, seeing we're in some residential area near a river.
"oh shit bam is this near yours?" i ask tiredly.
"yeah. well it's closer to ryan's but yeah," he explains. we get out to see rick, ehren, dave, dimitry, raab and rake setting up the ramp and carrying a bike over. we all get out and ehren hands me my pills and some water.
"knox said you needed these," he says, as i take them from him.
"he called you? that snake," i smile before taking them.
"he did. you alright?" he asks.
"oh yeah i'll be okay. thanks," i smile, walking over to where johnny and bam are. "i can't believe you snitched."
"i had to. we weren't going back and it's cold," johnny says, taking the water and pills from me and handing me his bigger jacket. i take it from him and pull it on, snuggling into it. he is right it's really cold.
"so ryan is going to jump that?" i ask.
"he's gonna try," he says, wrapping an arm around me.
"i don't think he's gonna make it," i say quietly.
"me neither," he smiles at me. raab and rake put the final bits of the ramp down. so we all go over to the other side of the river, apart from ryan, johnny and rick who are on the side where ryan's gonna be taking off from. we watch as ryan introduces the stunt to ricks camera and then has johnny push him while he pedals towards the ramp. he makes it pretty far across the lake before landing with a massive splash close to our side in the water. dimitry is filming from our side and rushes over to the edge of the river to film ryan.
"ryan go again. go back to that side!" jeff shouts. ryan drags himself and the bike back up to the ramp side.
"yknow. i really don't think he's gonna make it," i say to bam.
"i think he's gonna try," bam says with a laugh, biting his knuckle. rake and dave go over to the other side to help him back up and dry off a little before he tries again. this time he pedals up with no help and falls face first down into the water. he comes up spluttering water.
"you okay dunn?" i shout.
"what do you think?" he shouts back.
"damn i was just asking," i laugh.
"ryan one more time?" jeff asks.
"damn really?!" he complains as he drags himself out again.
"just once more," jeff says. ryan rolls his eyes but pulls himself up to that side again. this time johnny pushes him again but he doesn't make it far, landing about in the middle of the river. bam and raab go over to help him up to our side of the river while i grab him a towel. he pulls his soaking hoodie off and i hand him the towel that's been sitting in the hot car.
"you okay love?" i ask gently.
"no that sucked!" he laughs.
"at least you looked really cool?" raab laughs.
"do i have a booger hanging?" ryan asks, looking into bams camera.
"no you look great," bam smiles.
"good. that was for the ladies," ryan winks. we all stand talking for a bit while ryan dries off until we hear police sirens pull up next to us. jeff and dave go over to talk to them.
"i think we're getting arrested right now because of you," bam says. we all go over as the police announce that we have to leave and take everything with us. rake, ehren, rick and raab go grab the bike and ramps while we all climb over the fence. in the end we didn't get arrested but got told to leave the river and not come back. we all pile into the vans and laugh at how ridiculous that was.
