What To Do, What To Do?

Dick watched Peter's shoulders slump slightly as he walked back into the room he came from. Biting his lip, Dick walked to the small sofa and sat down. He took off his mask, setting it on the coffee table and rubbing the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes as he tried to process and understand the situation.

He didn't get very deep into thought before Peter came back into the room, this time wearing a T-shirt and sweatpants, placing a pile of neatly folded clothes next to Dick on the couch. "Hey, I kinda figured you didn't wanna just sit around in your hero suit the whole time, let alone sleep in it and I figured that we're around the same size anyway. So here."

"Thanks. Also thanks for letting me stay." "Well, it's not exactly your fault that all this happened," with that, Peter left back into the room he came from, this time closing the door behind him. Dick changed into the clothes and layed down on the sofa, letting his guard down and falling asleep.

He was woken up hours later by a voice, one that wasn't Peter's. He couldn't figure out where exactly it was coming from until he remembered. His comms were still on. Jason, Damien, Tim, Steph, Cass, Barbara, Clark, the Titans, and Bruce. God forbid it was Bruce. He picked up his mask and put it back on. "Hey.." Anyone who had been talking recently went quiet, the tension becoming unbearable.

"Dick?" "Tim." "Who are you talking to?" Dick yelped in surprise at the sudden sound of Peter's voice behind him. "Who was that? You're with someone?" "Uh-" "Wait a minute," Jason's voice cut in, "I recognize that voice, are you watching a Spider-Man movie? Where the hell are you?" "One second" "Dick-" he then turned off his comms, turning to Peter.

"That was my brother. Well, I guess family in general. I can't really just dissappear and have nobody notice." He noticed Peter's face wince at his word choice. "Sorry, I didn't mean to put it like that." "No, it's alright, not your fault," Peter repeated,"anyways, I bought this for you. I may or may not have read through it a little." Dick took ahold of the comic, flipping through a few of the pages.

He was really only half-shocked that all of the details were correct. From KGBeast shooting him to Joker hypnotizing him into nearly killing his own family. They'd all already happened not too long ago. He closed the book and looked back at Peter. "Do you um...do you wanna come on patrol with me tonight? It gets boring being alone, especially when you don't have friends to communicate with while waiting for crime to fix." Dick nodded, picking up his Nightwing suit and leaving to change into it.
