Could This Be Bad?

"Would you look at that, I'm famous here, too," Dick joked, pointing to a billboard displaying J. Jonah Jameson's newest rant. "It seem that the menace's sidekick went off on a mission alone. Could they be going their separate ways already? Are these vigilantes not as perfect as they seem? On another note, a few of my viewers have informed me that this sidekick is dressed as popular comic book character, and former Robin, Nightwing. What could this mean?"

Dick rolled his eyes at the use of 'sidekick.' He wasn't a sidekick anymore. He had his own identity, separate from other heros or people. "Are you okay?" Dick hadn't realized he was making a face until Peter questioned him. "Yeah, just not loving the term 'sidekick.'" "Oh...um, I know why you care, but it really doesn't matter. I'd be more worried about how people recognize you as Nightwing. I have a feeling it could be a problem later."

"It may or may not, honestly. If I'm recognized in costume, it may be suggested that I'm actually Dick Grayson, but seeing as I'm a fictional character in your universe, it'll be seen as something crazy. And when it comes to looks outside of costume, odds are it'll be seen as a coincidence." "Fair enough."

"I'm more worried about Reverse Flash. He was brushed off too easily. I've seen and heard about what he can do. He was so determined to get rid of Flash that at some point he resorted to sending him to a different timeline entirely, simply to kill him." "Jeez." "Yeah and I assume that, with his ability to harness the speed force and travel through different timelines, combined with the opening portals, he'd use them as a way to fix more personal vendettas"

"Do you...do you think you being here is his fault?" "Could be, but I'm not sure how likely. When he does send people to other realities, he picks the worst ones. He likes weakening you with all the problems of a timeline, then he strikes." "Gotcha. What do you think will happen now?"

"Not sure. Odds are that, because Bruce brought Constantine and Deadman with him, he also has Zatanna, too. They're probably talking to Stephen and forming a plan to stop Reverse Flash and get me back to Blüdhaven. I assume they'll contact us when they do that." "That all tracks."

Dick's mood was dampened at the realization that he'd be leaving soon. It wasn't that he wasn't glad he'd be getting back to helping Blüdhaven, and that he was going to see his friends and family again. He'd just grown to enjoy the time he was spending with Peter. He was pulled out of his thoughts when Peter started talking again.

"So, who was that blonde guy? And who are Zatanna and Deadman?" "Oh, that blonde guy was John Constantine. He's pretty much our universe's Stephen Strange, but he's British. You weren't able to actually see Deadman, because he's a ghost, Constantine has to help you with that, and Zatanna is really experienced in harnessing and using magic. Constantine also gambles with demons."

Peter chuckled, "like, fights them?" "He gambles with them for actual money. Sometimes the demons cheat and that makes him cheat, then he fights them." "Your universe is weird." "Did I tell you that there's another dimension out there, and in it Jason is Green Lantern?" "Um, no?! What?!" "It's true."

The two continued talking as they went up the stairs to Peter's apartment. After they got inside and put the groceries away, they sat on the couch and played some of the new games they bought. Until Dick's comms went off again, making him pick up his mask and put it on.

"Hey Bruce." There was a moment of silence that slowly grew more tense the longer it went on. Dick muttered a few curses under his breath. "Yeah, we can be there. We'll be sure to bring our hero suits," Dick said, his tone reading as a mix of terrified and pissed.
