No one's POV
Keith didn't know how long it had been before he gave up on trying to find Octavia. It had felt like it had been years with no progress.
A lot had happened while the group was in space; Everyone had be separated, Shiro had disappeared at some point, Allura was taken, Lotor teamed up with them and Keith found out he was part Galra.
But still he had no progress in finding Via, the person most important to him.
After a lot of thinking, a Keith decided that he'd leave team Voltron and join the blades.
Now that he knew his mother was alive, he wanted to reunite with her.
She had left after he was born, so he never got to know her.

Krolia was in the blades base waiting for Kolivan to return with her son. She couldn't help but get all nervous about seeing Keith again.
Sure, after she had saved Octavia from Zarkon's ship she had heard a lot about him and how he's grown up into an amazing guy.
She quickly stood up when the bases door opened, small tears welled up in her eyes when she saw him.
"Keith?.." He looked so much like his father now, oh how she missed him. She so wanted to go back to earth to see him, little did she know he passed away years ago in a house fire.
"Hi mom." Keith smiled awkwardly before Krolia ran up and hugged him tightly.
Kolivan stepped out of the room to give them some privacy and let them catch up. Octavia was out on a mission again so he decided to check up on her son.
Phoenix was still sleeping peacefully in his bed, his fluffy black ears twitching happily.
He was a good kid. Since the blades saved them from Zarkon and Lotors wrath the year before, the members would often take turns in looking after the little boy.
That's when Octavia was out on her missions, when she was in, she was the one to look after him.

Via was assigned to spy on one of the Galra's shipping bases that were bringing in suspicious substances.
By the looks of it, they were shipping in big masses of quintessence. She quickly snuck around the corner and was about ro grab a small vile before she accidentally knocked the cart over.
The witches head quickly snapped in her direction, raising her hand to shoot magic at her.
"Fuck-" Octavia flinched and quickly jumped out of the way of the big bolt that was shot her way.
The druids also starting shooting at her, quickly teleporting around her which made it harder to dodge the bolts.
One of them managed to hit her on her side, earning a painful grunt to come from her mouth as she cursed under her breath and held the wound tightly.
The bolts stopped when Lotor's comrades rushed out of a newly landed ship.
"Emperor Zarkon has been defeated by Lotor!" The news stunned the witch and her druids, giving Octavia a few moments to quickly take a small vile and make her escape.
It sounds as though the Galra empire is about to crumble and meet its end.
