After explaining to Greg - Er Mr Goode - the situation. He let me find Drew, Zach and Austin. Heres an idea on how the conversation went.
Me: HELP! THERES A FIRE!
Zach: Ah *Insert cussing in Swahili*
Austin: Where?!
Drew: What did you say?
Me: THERES A FIRE! FOLLOW ME!
And then I ran to The Boss' office. I casually leaned against his desk and watched as they ran into the room looking around for a fire.
"No rush," I said smiling.
"There is no fire?" Drew asked confused.
"Correct you are! I just wanted to see how fast she could get you here!" The Boss said and then looked at me, "Six minutes and twenty seven seconds. Not bad,"
"Wait, wait, wait, this was all a bet?" Zach asked confused.
"Not a bet, a competition. Anyways here are your folders. You leave tomorrow at four o'clock in the morning. You are excused from the rest of your classes. Good day," He said then turned around in his chair, signalling for us to leave, which we did.
Drew, Austin, Zach and I all looked over our folders and the assignment. Basically, we were supposed to go into a school undercover and find out who was sending anonymous threats to the mayors son. Can anyone say easy?
"I bet we'll have this one done in under a week," Drew said.
"Hold up! Read the last line," Zach said and we all read it.
Well, crap.
The line said, 'Six must find out if it is an inside threat. She must get close to the subject and infiltrate the inside,' meaning that I have to date this kid.
"I didnt even cry in 'The Fault in our Stars', how do they expect me to create emotion for this kid I don't even know?" I said to them all, very seriously.
"Whats 'The Fault in our Stars'?" Drew asked me confused.
"Its a book by John Green," I told him.
"You read a lot, don't you?" Drew asked me.
"In my spare time which is never," I said honestly.
"Save the flirting for later! We have to pack," Austin interrupted, sounding a little mad. What was that all about? Anyways, we all went to our rooms and packed. I also looked over my folder more.
I found out that I would be acting as a sixteen year old girl named Zoe Hawthorne and I had dark hair so I wouldnt have to wear a wig. Yes! Wigs suck when you're on missions. I was also supposed to be Drew's 'sister' which would be awkward but I could live. Then there was Austin and Slink who were 'family friends' that had 'family troubles' and were living with us. I was supposed to act smart which wouldn't be hard because the stuff we learn here is what 'normal people' learn in university.
The kid we were supposed to protect was named Nathan Holmes and he was a player. Fun. (Please note my sarcasm) He was the football quarter back and he played a lot of sports. So I'm guessing he was fairly popular.
This was going to be interesting.
After I packed and read my file, I flopped on my bed and stared at the ceiling for an hour before Jayme and Alexis came in laughing.
Alexis abruptly stopped laughing and gave me a funny look, "Were you just staring at your roof for no reason?" She asked confused.
"Yup. For an hour straight too," I said popping the 'p'.
