DEVI BHATT

At the crack of dawn, I hear whispers making me stir.

Just kidding, I'm not going mad yet.

I'm woken with the light shining directly onto my bedside table where the pictures of my mother, father and Thomas are.

...

Me and Sasha sit by the pool on those sunbathing chairs, basking in the simmering heat of the sun. It's currently noon and we just finished our lunch which consisted of spicy shrimp soup, known as Tom Yum Goong in Thai culture.

My mouth waters just thinking about it- I could really have another. I doubt Sasha would though, her mouth was, and I quote,'as if I swallowed the sun'.

I smile thinking about her red face and her constant voice popping up asking for tissues and water. I didn't tell her that water usually makes it worse though.

"Do you think these star shaped sunglasses will give me a star-shaped tan around my eyes?" Sasha breaks the silence with the oddest question.

Feliks has a bucket hat covering his face opposite us but I still hear his snort.

"It was a serious question, Feliks," she defends.

"Would you want that?" I ask her.

"Want a star-shaped tan? When I first thought about it I would but then I realised tans stay for a while so it might not be a good idea," she says, thoughtfully.

"It probably won't do anything," I sit up resting on my elbows to face her and she does the same. She is getting a bit red on her shoulders. "You should put some sunscreen on," I point out.

"Oh yeah," she says. She seems to be in a real daze.

Boredom picks at me just sitting here in the sun and doing nothing so after much talking with myself I get up to fetch a book. "I'll be right back," I tell Sasha and she hums in agreement.

Putting my kimono on top of my swimsuit, I go fetch my book. When I look at Sasha, she's trying so hard to rub her back; it's too tempting to just watch her struggle.

My feet make no sound against the concrete as I walk silently into the kitchen. Scrolling through my twitter on my phone, I find myself walking into someone.

My phone clatters to the floor causing me to look up and see a very awestruck Russian staring at me. His hair clouds around his eyes blocking me from seeing anything beyond them.

I feel like his eyes are his vulnerable spot where he doesn't let anyone see them unless they give a piece of themselves first. He hides them because he can't hide a single emotion behind them so the best armour he can create is his hair covering them.

Grisha's gaze slowly travels down my body, his jaw moving slowly. I feel myself flush. He's gonna see my legs then say I'm a hypocrite for what I said to him this morning.

"Eyes up here, big guy," I say to him, crouching down to pick up my phone. When I turn it over, thankfully it's not cracked. I put my arms on his shoulders, and move his stiff body over to the side so I can get past.

He stays silent. Someone's grouchy today.

I finally get to the kitchen to grab my book. I'm still reading Fifty Shades of Grey and I can still remember what Feliks said so I make a mental note to visit the pharmacy later.

Just as I'm taking a swig of cranberry juice, Kai enters, yawning excessively.

"Did you just wake up?" I ask, in disbelief. It's 2 o'clock.
