As Venti woke up, the sky was clear, and the sun was shining down on him. He yawned and sat up, rubbing his eyes. Smiling, the bard jumped down from the tree he had slept on and stretched his legs.
The morning was warm, the rain hadn't reached Mondstadt overnight. Now, the clouds were gone and there wasn't any bad weather in sight.
Venti started walking towards the city gate, still smiling and enjoying the singing birds and light breeze.
Mondstadt was calm, the shops were opening and the blacksmith was already working. The boy made his way to Good Hunter. It was the best restaurant in Mond and, much to Ventis liking, not too expensive."Good morning, Sara," he greeted the friendly waitress. She smiled at him and replied, "Morning Venti, here for your breakfast?" The boy nodded and ordered some chicken-mushroom Skewers.
He closed his eyes again and felt the wind on his face. It was weird how peaceful it was here, compared to the troubles in Liyue. He had heard about the passing of their Archon, the Lord of Geo- also known as Morax. Despite living as a seemingly young bard, Venti was the god of winds, Barbatos.
He had never been close with the lord of Geo, still he felt uneasy.Formerly, the Nation of contracts, Liyue, had been ruled over by Morax, who brought his advice once a year. Mond was used to not being ruled- Venti had never actually ruled, he wanted his people to be free. In Liyue however, the Qixing had to be very busy for sure, trying to organize everything.
Thanking Sara, Venti took the skewers and started walking towards the city gate again.
After a while, the boy arrived at Lady Venessa's tree, the symbol of Mondstadt hero. After paying his respects, he walked past it, memories of Vanessa in his mind. Sometimes it really was a shame to outlive everyone, being immortal. But at the same time, he enjoyed watching Mond change over the generations.
Still immersed in good memories, the boy made his way over the Windwail Highlands, past the Dawn Winery and towards Dihuha Marsh. In the distance, Wangshu Inn came in sight, the giant tree it was built on reaching for the heavens.
As he arrived, Venti asked for a room and paid with his last few Mora before heading out again to enjoy Liyue.
It had been some time since he last visited the Nation of Contacts. The sun would begin to set soon, and he decided to make his way to the mountains to watch the sunset. If everything goes smoothly, I will be back here before nightfall.
A fresh wind picked up and ruffled through Venti's hair.
He walked towards Cuijue Slope and up the mountain near the Luhua Pool.
As the young bard reached the top, he closed his eyes and felt the wind on his face. It felt great. Only when he opened his eyes again, he noticed a dark haired boy sitting on the cliff in front of him.————
