Venti was sitting on the roof terrace. Xiao hadn't been sleeping in the branches as usual but he was sure the Yaksha would show up.
Hes late. Probably overworked himself yesterday.
After a while, the dark haired boy came walking up the stairway."There you are! You're an hour late."
"Mhm, maybe"
The bard smiled. "Alright, are you hungry?"
Xiao didn't look at Venti but shook his head. "Well then" he continued, "Let's get going!" He turned around to leave.
Xiao just followed him in confusion. "Where are we going?"
Venti simply smiled and replied "Oh, you will see"About half an hour later, it became clear that they were walking towards Mondstadt.
Venti climbed up a tree to pick some apples.
"Here! Try one!" He laughed as he threw one towards Xiao.
He eyed the apple skeptically, before taking a bite.
His eyes widened as the sweet-sour taste filled his mouth. Though he didn't say anything, Venti still saw that he liked it.The two of them continued walking in silence as they ate their apples. Venti was feeling great. The wind in his hair, the taste of his beloved apples, the scent of his homeland.
Aswell as the Yaksha walking beside him.
He made such a cute expression as he tasted the apple. Just like a little kid that got some sweets.
Wait cute? He's still the conqueror of demons.
Still, Venti couldn't deny that Xiao looked kinda good.
The dark hair flowing in the breeze, the pale skin-
What am i thinking?! Stop it Venti!Venti didn't notice himself walking a bit slower than before, just as Xiao turned around with a questioning look on his face he realized that he was staying behind.
He must had turnend red, his cheeks became warm and he smiled nervously.
"What's wrong?" Xiao asked.
Venti laughed and tried to sound as normal as possible, even though he knew he was blushing. "N-nothing! Just thought of something..."Xiao didn't mention Ventis red cheeks and the bard was glad about it.
Soon enough, the two had crossed the Windwail highlands and were heading toward Dawn winery. The giant mansion was well known to Venti, after many times of attempting to get his hands on some wine. Still, he rather preferred to get past it without being seen by master Diluc.
Gladly, they made it all the way to Springvale without any incidents. The boys didn't really talk, every time Venti tried to start a conversation it ended with Xiao not being interested or not really listening.
It seemed like he had never actually been to Mondstadt before as he was looking at the landscape most of the time. Finally, they arrived at Starsnatch cliff. The way up took long and was pretty exhausting. As they made it, it was already late in the afternoon.
Venti ran towards the edge of the cliff and scared Xiao half to death by stopping a mere second before he would have fallen off.
„Xiao come over here! The view is amazing!"Xiao was rather tired, he wasn't even sure why he had been going with Venti all the way here. Still, he enjoyed the presence of the bard and the calmness within him that came with it.
He walked up next to Venti and was mesmerized by the land in front of him.
Well rather the sea in front of him.
On the left, there were the mountains and he could see the city of freedom in the distance. On the right, there was the endless blue of the sea with only some tiny islands near the shore."Whoa"
Xiao didn't mean to, still he said it.
"Great, isn't it?"
Suddenly Venti ran off. Xiao didn't really care and just sat down at the edge, closing his eyes and feeling the wind on his face.
He heard footsteps behind him and saw Venti walking towards him with a batch of white flowers in his arms.
The bard sat down beside Xiao, grinning like a little child and started weaving the Cecilias into each other. In some way, Xiao was really happy.
Happy about the silence inside of his head. Happy about getting out of Liyue.
He even realized that he hadn't thought of Morax the entire day. Somehow he felt guilty for that. But still happy.
Happy about having company. Yeah even that. Venti was the one who brought him here, he had been the one to get him out of his misery, back into life."Thank you"
He said.
"Hmm?"
"Thanks- for bringing me here"
He mumbled. Venti just laughed.
"You don't need to thank me. I mean i basically dragged you here- but anyways, look!"
He raised a flower crown.
Without thinking he put it onto Xiaos head, leaving the Yaksha flustered and slightly red.Venti smiled.
Cute.
At that moment, they both thought the same.
Then, as Venti turned at the landscape and the setting sun again,
Xiao too smiled.——
A little more cute this time, hope you liked it. Don't worry btw, it's gonna get more ~dramatic~ later :b
