In the evening, Venti arrived at the city. It was already pretty dark and the streets were lit by lanterns.
Now where do i find her?
On his search for the Adept he looked at the city. There weren't many people out on the streets and the atmosphere was calm and quiet.

After some time searching Venti came across a huge building in the western part of the city. Around it were some guards and in front of the door were some people in formal clothing talking about something. The bard waited until they were finished before speaking to a women near the door of the building.

„Excuse me Miss, could you tell me where to find the secretary of the Tianquan?"
The women looked at him for a moment before answering „Lady Ganyu? She should be somewhere near Luhua Pool. She is probably collecting some Qingxin."
Great, all the way back at Luhua Pool.
He sighed, thanked the women and walked back through the city.

——

"Xiao, I've made almond tofu! You want some?" a female voice sounded through Wangshu Inn.
The Yaksha sat up and yawned. He was still tired but didn't mind it. On his way down some of the guests looked at him but he learned to ignore it.

All the way down the stairs near the kitchen, Verr Goldet was waiting for him, holding a plate of Xiaos favorite food. It was more or less the only human food he seemed to enjoy.
The boy took the plate from Verr, who was smiling at him. Looking up at her face, he couldn't help but smile slightly too.
Even though he didn't want too much contact to humans, Verr had always been nice to him an he didn't want to seem like he wouldn't appreciate her kindness.

As he was eating on the roof terrace he wondered about where Venti went after they parted ways on the mountain.
What if he got in trouble?
He is a god.
But what if I never see him again?
What would i care anyways?
He didn't know what was so special about Venti. Sure, he was the Anemo Archon but Xiao was used to the presence of Adepti or even gods.
Why do I admire his company that much?

He finished eating and brought his plate back to the kitchen.
I should get to work.
It was the first time in days that he went out to fulfill his duty's as a Yaksha.
On his way towards Wuwang Hill he came across some Hilichurl camps. It didn't take very long for him to finish them off, his spear cutting through their bodies as if they were made out of butter.

The fighting was a well appreciated distraction from the confusion of the past few days.

No thoughts. Just the familiar feeling of his spear in his hand.
Though his karmic dept got worse again, he was used to it. Everything was just as it had been before Morax left.

He continued wiping out hilichurl camps, glad about not having to think very much, until the sun was setting. Xiao almost didn't notice, he was so caught up in defeating one enemy after another that he didn't realize how late it had gotten.
I should better get going or else Verr will be worried that something might had happened. I don't want her to think too much about me, she's always so annoying when she worries about me.

On his way back he took out another monster camp. It seemed like they really settled in this area in the short time he wasn't constantly looking out for them.
Still, he was kind of glad that there were no more incidents until he arrived at the Inn.
He never really cared about sleep or having to rest but it seemed like he wasn't used to fighting that much anymore. He really was exhausted.

Without a second thought, Xiao walked up the stairs to the roof as he heard a voice coming from behind him. "Xiao?!" Verr almost sounded terrified. "W-what happened?"
The Yaksha turned around, confused about the women's reaction.
"Hm?" He simply asked. "You are completely covered in blood- are you okay?" She replied with a worried look on her face.
Oh great, now she's concerned.
Just now Xiao too realized how he must seem. All covered in monster blood and tired after a day of fighting Hilichurls.
"It's not mine, i was just fighting some monsters"
Verr calmed down a bit. "Well good to hear that. Still, you should get yourself cleaned up or else you will scare the other guests."
Xiao nodded. It was pointless to argue with Verr. She was kind enough to let him stay here, he didn't want to anger her.

So he made his way down to the river next to the Inn. The sky was dark, the water clear and the stars reflected on the surface of the calm stream.

Xiao stepped into the water up to his knees and started washing of the blood. He didn't really pay attention as all he could think of was to finally lay down and rest.
As he was done, he stood in the fresh cold water for a moment, his eyes closed and taking a deep breath.
He looked up at the sky, the stars reflecting in his golden eyes. They were almost glowing in the dark.

Still, he was tired so he got up and walked up the stairs again, falling asleep the moment he laid down.
