The sky was already dark as Venti stopped playing his lyre. The Yaksha sat at the cliff without saying a word for the whole time.
The bard had actually planned to be back at the inn before nightfall but he got a little carried away while playing. He yawned and stood up, stretching his arms and legs.
Xiao looked up at him before turning his head away again.
"Do you wanna stay here all night? Isn't it getting cold?" Venti said looking at the dark haired in front of him. He didn't respond so he asked "Do you wanna come with me to Wangshu Inn?"
Xiao sighed and stood up. The bard took that as a yes and started making his way down the mountain."Where do you live?" Venti asked, looking at the other boy. He shrugged his shoulders, obviously not interested in starting a conversation.
Not wanting to give up that easily, the boy kept asking. "Why did you go to the mountains?"
Xiao stayed quiet for a moment before responding "I go there sometimes to be alone"Venti smiled. For everything he knew about the Yaksha he was always reserved and cold.
Yet mainly he seemed sad to the young bard. And for some reason he really wanted to cheer him up.
However it seemed not that easy to even get him to talk, he just followed Venti quietly without the slightest sign of interest in talking.
By the time the two boys arrived at the Inn Xiao had barely spoken a word.Without saying anything Xiao turned away and before Venti could follow him, he disappeared between trees and rocks.
The bard spent a few more minutes, looking at the direction Xiao had run off before making his way up the stairs to his room. After taking off his shoes, the boy fell in bed. He didn't even notice how tired he actually was until now. The face of the Yaksha was still roaming through his mind.
He seemed sad- almost broken but still strong. Even with Ventis experience at reading people he seemed difficult to asess.
Slowly, he drifted away in well needed sleep.——
After Xiao had run off, he almost felt bad for leaving the bard just like this. Still it wasn't his problem. He banished every thought of the boy from his mind before sitting down on a rock near the water.
Despite trying to concentrate on his breathing, this bard kept barging into his head. What was so special about him? And why did his music sound so familiar? After a while Xiao decided it was pointless to keep doing nothing and started walking towards Wangshu Inn.
Maybe if he could get some sleep his thoughts would be back to normal.
Why do I keep acting weird like this?
As he reached the top of the tree the boy sat down on one of the branches, his back leaned against the trunk.Slowly relaxing, the bard started fading in his mind. Xiao closed his eyes, glad that the voices were still gone for some reason.
Is that so because of the music?
And there was the bard again in his thoughts. However it wasn't really a bad thing. After all, it felt quiet calming to think about this smiling boy.
Slowly, Xiao fell asleep- the young bard still in his mind.————
Okay it's not much longer qwq
