I've known for years now that Shadow Pokemon has made a come back to Pokemon games since their introduction in 2003. Exclusively to Pokemon Go might I add... But Pokemon Go doesn't even get Shadow Pokemon right. Team Rocket WASNT responsible for Shadow Pokemon unlike how they're depicted in Pokemon Go. Shadow Pokemon used to be a million times different.

So what are Shadow Pokemon?

Shadow Pokemon debuted in the 2003 Title: Pokemon Colosseum. It's my favorite Pokemon game in existence might I add. An evil organization named Cipher illegally & forcibly steals Pokemon & experiments on them, thus turning them in Shadow Pokemon. The name 'Shadow' comes from when there's a Shadow Pokemon, a black or occasionally red aura surrounds it. However, not anyone can tell if a Pokemon is a Shadow. You either need to have a sixth sense for them or wear special gear that can read a Pokemon & determine if it's normal or not. When a Pokemon becomes a 'Shadow', their emotions are taken from them, sealed away within their hearts behind a lock. Therefore becoming fighting machines that won't hesitate to attack anyone, even their own trainers. On top of such, Shadow Pokemon are exceptionally stronger than average Pokemon for reasons I'll soon explain.

Okay, so Shadow Pokemon are aggressive dangerous Pokemon. That's what you're thinking right? Well there's more to it... Shadow Pokemon will occasionally disobey their trainer, much like in the mainstream games when you try to use an over leveled Pokemon. Shadow Pokemon possess 'Shadow' moves that are super effective against ALL Pokemon no matter their type. Such as Shadow Rush, Shadow Storm, Shadow End, Shadow Pulse, etc. Furthermore, Shadow Pokemon don't have weaknesses either. Doesn't matter if you use an electric move on a water type Shadow Pokemon, it won't be super effective like it's supposed to be.

Do you realize just how BROKEN Shadow Pokemon are? Pokemon with NO weaknesses & are super effective against all Pokemon too. They're OVER POWERED!!! There's reasons why Shadow Pokemon never made a come back to console games. Especially nowadays with competitive battling.

Thing is, there's only 3 Pokemon in existence with no weaknesses and it'd be the Tynamo line: Tynamo, Eelektrik & Eelektross. They're all pure Electric type Pokemon who possess the ability Levitate. Levitate makes the Pokemon immune to Ground type moves. You see the problem with this? Ground is Electric's only weakness. Therefore, these 3 Pokemon have no weaknesses. Once again, there's reasons why you haven't seen the Tynamo line in recent games. They're too overpowered and thus Pokemon took it away from us.

The most famous Shadow Pokemon in existence is #XD001 aka Shadow Lugia

While it is nice that older Pokemon Games are getting representation in Pokemon nowadays, and yes! I want to see Shadow Pokemon make an appearance in mainstream games, but I'm afraid it'll never happen due to how broken & overpowered they are
