Paula's POV

"Keep firing until it breaks!" Clint shouted as his men fired and fired at the bolted door.

I was just behind him. Afraid but ready to take on whatever's on the other side of this fucking door.

I need the man who has the other half of my heart.

I need to save him.

I need to desperately get him out of that literal hell hole.

"No one fucking stop until that fucking door breaks!" Clint shouted.

But as the heavy firearms hit the door, so does the building shook. This cannot be good.

"Clint, I think firing down the basement isn't the best idea," I meekly suggested as I touched his forearm to stop him from raining down the door with bullets.

"I want Mason saved but we can't have this whole building collapse," I added, "not while he's inside, at least."

"Then what do you suggest, huh?" Clint shouted over the gunshots.

"I don't know! Just stop this, clearly this is not the way in!" I shouted back as well.

The look on his face knew that I was right. But, hell, what else is there to do? Even I don't have the answer.

"Continue fire!" Clint chose to ignore my advise as he fired his gun as well. The bullets only made small bullet dents and the bomb they initially fired only burned the steel door black and left a dent on it but nothing else.

"Clint, stop," Mason's voice suddenly was heard by the tiny speaker near the steel door.

"Oh my god! Mason!" I hurriedly ran to the small electronic attached by the side of the door. "Are you okay? Don't worry, we're coming to get you!"

I was excited. I was hopeful. His voice alone shred every doubt in my mind.

'Thank the gods, he's alive,' I murmured as I cried happy tears. Now the only problem was this thick concrete door between us.

"Love, I'm okay. I just hate that you had to endanger yourself and come here. Clint can do his job perfectly," Mason weakly replied. His voice was clearly struggling.

"You know I can't sit around and wait, Mason," I reasoned. "Are you able to open the door from inside?"

"I-I can't, love," he hesitantly answered. "Only William can open the door."

"Is he with you?" I asked as my fears came resurfacing. Mason was still not safe in there, so I spoke up, "please Mr. Ty, let him go. Please!"

"Paula," Mr. Ty greeted me in his unusually villainous tone, never had I heard him talk this way, "so glad you came and join the party."

"Please, Mr. Ty, I'm begging you," I sobbed.

Mr. Ty only chuckled.

"Love, listen to me," Mason spoke, "William has enough explosives in here, he has enough for the whole lot of us. And he will trigger it if you continue. We will all die and I can't let that happen. I want you to leave and let Clint and I handle this."

"Please, my love," Mason pleaded because he knew how hard headed I was, "I love you, with all my heart. With my whole life. I can't let you die in here. I can't. Please."

"No! No one else is gonna die!"

"Paula, I'll forever blame myself if something bad happens to you here," Mason struggled to change my mind, "William just wants a safe exit once the transfer of funds is completed."
