They were driving for almost two hours. The road going there was surrounded by forest on either side of the road. Kilometers and kilometers of nothing but trees.A few more minutes, a farm with a small barn came into view. They figured the barn was where the hostages were kept since it was heavily guarded. They parked their cars right in front of the barn.
And just like their perfectly rehearsed security protocol, their men came out. Half surrounded the twins' vehicle. Half surrounded the barn.
The men securing the barn cocked their guns as soon as the twins' men pointed their guns at them.
Mark came out, holding out a drenched, tied man that was Salvatore. There was no need for the twins to expose themselves at the imminent crossfire.
"Nobody fucking shoot!" Salvatore ordered. "Lower your fucking guns and bring out the hostages!"
His men hesitated for a second. They didn't want to lower their guns. It's the only thing that's protecting them from the armed, black suited men who easily outnumbered them.
"NOW!" Salvatore roared. And so they obliged.
Soon, one by one, the hostages were sent out of the barn. Everyone can walk on their feet, except for the girl. She was unconscious and carried by one guard. Marco shook his head in disappointment. Paula's not gonna be happy once she knew what happened to her friend.
Salvatore's men were standing still with their arms high in the air as the twins' men secured every hostage into the vehicle.
The moment Jackie was secured, Mark ordered, "fire!" And the rain of bullets came to Salvatore's men until every one of them was on the ground, lifeless and all soaked in their own pool of blood.
"NO!" Salvatore roared, he now realized that the twins didn't have any plan on salvaging him. The hostages were the last of his edge to be kept alive and now that he's no use to them, it's his time to die too.
"You really think we're gonna let you out alive?" Marco chuckled as he and Mason stepped out of the vehicle. "After you killed our friends and ruined our mansion?"
"Marco, Mason," he called them by first name, trying to appeal to them, "I can still be useful!"
He was willing to turn against his own lifelong plan just to be kept alive. To him, his plan was now unlikely to come to fruition but he must keep himself alive at the very least.
"I think we've had enough of you, Fische," Mason countered as he cocked his gun at Salvatore's head.
"NO! I can give you my partners! And I know who killed your father!" He blurted out as his eyes shut in fear.
Partners?
Killed?Marco and Mason were floored.
He didn't have only one partner.
And their father.
Their father, though they had a slight idea their father didn't actually die of natural causes, wasn't killed as far as their investigation went.
"WHO KILLED HIM?!" Marco lunged at Salvatore, bringing them both on the ground. Marco punched and punched and punched.
"WHO?!" He roared as blood squirted out of Salvatore's mouth due to the hard and continuous punches. Salvatore's consciousness flickered as he received every hit.
