Paula's POV

"Well, Ms. Santiago, I wanna see what you have in your daily report over dinner later," Mason stated, still emphasizing at the word 'daily'. He checked me out again before he left.

Marco, on the other hand, still stood in front of me, "you look just as delectable when I last saw you. Good thing I don't have to barge in your hotel room anymore to see you again." And before I can make up for a good comeback, he left.

"What in the actual fuck?" Kyle said to me while I was still glued to my spot. "Just when I thought this can't get any worse." I whispered back at him.

————

We finished up just as when the sun set. We were done for the day. Kyle and I were all sweaty, good thing we brought extra shirts. We changed in the car. I convinced Kyle to stay with me for dinner with Mason to give and explain him our report.

We were asked to stay in the receiving area while we wait for dinner.

Mason came in and invited us to proceed to the dining.

"Thank you for staying with me," I whispered to Kyle. "Oh honey, I only stayed to see how he'll come at you," he whispered back.

Fucking jerk.

We were all seated, servants served us our dinner, and no one talked. God, this is so awkward. I decided to break the silence.

"Sir, here's our 1st daily report," I put my folder on the table and slide it to Mason, "as you can see here, it took us all day to clear out everything. Some debris were still attached to the structure so we had to trim it down." He looked at them for a moment and then asked, "I see. May I ask why do you need to be accompanied by Mr. Matthews for this report?"

"Well, I am only here to observe if what I taught her for today is delivered correctly to you," Kyle interjected our conversation. "You are treating her like a baby," Mason turned to him. Kyle was just silent, clearly didn't know what to say.

"The truth is I asked Mr. Matthews to stay with me over dinner while I give the report to you," I answered bravely, "I wanted to make sure I am not giving off wrong details to you and he could help me explaining it more to you."

"You only cleared out a mess today and you're not even sure how you would deliver it to me?" He asked rhetorically. Kyle and I kept quiet, because honestly he stayed here so it'll be a little less intense.

I was wrong. This became more intense.

"Mr. Matthews once you're done with your dinner, you may go. I wanted to talk to Ms. Santiago alone," he said without even looking at Kyle nor me.

Why do we have to be alone? This is really not good.

"But sir—," I tried to reason but he looked at me pissed and my tongue straight up forgot how to function.

Okay, I am screwed. He is so much scarier than Marco.

Kyle finished his food almost too soon, he bid his goodbye and winked at me before he went out the dining.

Oh, no.

"Ms. Santiago, you may now proceed with the report," he said as he took a bite of his food, not looking at me.

Okay, girl, you can do this.

"Well, as I said earlier, we cleared up the mess and we trimmed out the debris attached to it. Most of the walls, columns and posts needed to be demolished, since their structural integrity isn't gonna hold anymore. Some posts can be rectified but we suggest to demolish it as well and replace it. It's much safer to have them all uniformed as new," I explained confidently.

"So what's gonna happen tomorrow?" He asked looking at me as he stab his meat with his fork. "Demolition, sir," I answered politely.

His breathing got intense for a moment and quickly recovered as he spoke, "Ms. Santiago, call me Mason. You've been calling me 'sir' since last night and it is giving me different thoughts." He stared at me as he put the piece of meat on his mouth.

Ah, so same thoughts I'm having—no! Paula, knock out of it!

Brushing off the dirty meaning he's implying, I replied, "Okay, Mason."

Without another word, he stood up and pushed my seat forward to cage me between my seat and the table. He bent down and whispered, "call me 'sir' again and you'll see exactly what I have in mind." I kept my mouth shut.

"Just say the word," he teased against my ears.

"I'd rather stay professional, Mason," I answered trying to sound unaffected. I tried to push the chair away from the table in front of me, but his arms were glued heavily to the chair.

"Not yet, love. Let me just show a little of what I'm thinking when you call me 'sir'," he traced the tip of his nose from my ear down to my neck.

My breathing stopped. All my motor functions stopped. Instead of being the feisty and fearless woman that I am, I just sat there, letting his sniff me like a fucking animal.

"I would love to just bend you over this table," he whispered against the skin on my neck and gave it a wet kiss.

Fuck, those lips felt so good.

Just then, Marco came in with a plate on his hand. Mason quickly withdrew his lips on my neck and stood up. He let out a frustrated sigh and went back on his seat.

Marco sat beside me, smirking. Of course, he saw what his brother was doing.

"Good evening, brother. Good evening, Paula," he greeted.

I wanted to regain my professionalism, so I fake smiled at him and replied, "good evening, Marco."

"Are the reports for tonight done? I would love to hear to it as well," he asked me while checking me out.

"Yes, we are done here," Mason answered Marco, almost sounded like a warning.

"No intentions of sharing, brother?" Marco asked. Mason only clenched his jaw.

"No sharing on this one. You were uninterested with this renovation and left me to handle it and now you suddenly wanna join in?" Mason asked rhetorically to his equally delicious brother.

I could just melt here in my seat hearing them say the word 'share'. I was having the dirtiest thoughts, exactly the opposite of what I originally planned to do, which was avoid situations like this.

Get over yourself, Paula. We don't mix work and personal stuff. Ultimately, we are not gonna cheat on Ian no matter what. I scolded myself internally.

I took my glass of water, finished it and stood up. I can't take this situation anymore. Too hot, too intense, too much trouble.

"If that's everything for tonight, I think I should get going," I said.

They both stood up and came a little closer to me. "See you again tomorrow, Ms. Santiago," Mason shook my hand as he smirked, I just nodded politely. Marco came more closer from behind and whispered, "See you tomorrow, Paula," his breath so hot on my ear.

I exited the mansion and was led to the service vehicle. The car drove off.

I can't do this everyday.
