Paula's POV

As I finished my lunch and went to the sink to wash the dishes, my front door opened abruptly and saw a very hung over Kyle coming in.

"Good morning to you, too," I say as I brushed the sponge against the plate. He went straight to the fridge, "food, I need food." He kept searching for food but failed.

"I had just finished my lunch. Go, sit down and I'll make you a coffee, egg and toast," I ordered him. "You already ate? Why didn't you call me? You know I'm hungry too and I'm useless in the kitchen," he heavily sat on the couch.

"My lunch was for one only, sorry. And yeah, I know you're useless in the kitchen, master in the bedroom. Am I right?" Asking him if I said his famous line right.

"Right on, babe. You know it but why did you forgot about me and made lunch only for yourself?" He sensed something I'm not telling him.

"Well, someone served it for me," I said simply as I turn the stove on to pre-heat the pan. He took an over the top inhale, "NO! YOU SLEPT AROUND?!" His hands on his chest, clearly not believing what I just said. "Asshole, I didn't! Chill," I almost threw the spatula I'm holding at him.

He stood up, propped himself at the counter table and waited for me to explain. As I was breaking off the egg and putting it in the pan, I started telling him what happened last night and the morning after.

"Oh my, some crazy rich hot British guy is onto you! This is so exciting!" He exclaimed.

"No! This is not exciting! Last night was just a little play. It's nice to see that I still got it, but that's all it is. I have a boyfriend back home, I love him," it came out as if I'm convincing myself.

"If I were you, I would have jumped on him right away. How can you turn down a delicious man like that?!" He scolded me while he served himself some coffee. "Duh, I just said I have a boyfriend back home and I love him," I rolled my eyes at him.

"Say it one more time and you'll actually convince yourself," he whispered as he sipped his coffee. I slide out his plate to him a little too strong, not saying a word. "Wow, someone's triggered," he whispered again.

One more and I'm gonna snap.

"Clearly, you enjoyed the attention he's given you," he added.

That's it. "Get out," I pointed the door, looking really pissed.

"Really? You're mad at me for telling you what you've been denying to yourself?" He looked at me deadpanned, waited for me to answer.

He can't be right. I don't want another man. I don't need another man. I'm happy. I'm contented. Now, it surely sounded I was convincing myself.

I stared at him long enough to calm myself down. I sat heavily on the couch. "Kyle, this is bad! So bad!" I put my palms on to my face.

"No, it's not bad!" He came and sit beside me. Probably confused as I was in my situation.

"Yes, it is. I am not supposed to be attracted to anyone but Ian. The fact that I hate Marco's guts adds up to this fucking confusion that I feel," I told him, convincing him and myself.

"Honey, anyone's gonna be attracted to that kind of man. Looks, money, attitude. You don't have to feel bad about it. You stood your ground. You didn't gave in, that's something," he tried to comfort and encourage me. "Although, a little action wouldn't be too bad either," he teased. I laughed, finally brushing off this confusion brought by the fucking hot man.

"Let's just hope that he won't bother me again," I sighed. "I don't know if I can shut him down again." I said honestly.

"I'd like to see that," he wriggled his eyebrows. I punched his arm and got up.

"Go back to your room, bitch. I'm taking a long, relaxing bath before we meet later for tonight's 1st meeting with the client," I said as I head to my bedroom's bath.

"Right, see you around 5! Business mode on, bitch! Thanks for the lunch!" He shouted out and heard the door opened and closed.

I am down in the tub for an hour or so, left with my own thoughts and decided to call Ian. He answered almost immediately, like always.

"Hi, baby! What's up?" He chirped. "Missing you, actually," I say sweetly. "Hmm, wanna show me how much you miss me?" He teased.

I took a selfie and sent it to him. "Check your messages, you'll see," I answered. "Wow, baby. Just wow. If I was there, I would have taken care of that situation right now," he said over the phone.

"Yeah, if you were here, everything would be easier," I said sadly.

"Baby, as much as I want to talk and see where this call might go, I must leave for a business meeting," he said as I heard him move around at the other line. "Remember the sideline I told you that an old friend hired me to enhance her security software, since a former employee of hers breached it. Well, we agreed to meet today to talk about numbers," he continued on.

"Alright, baby. Take care and good luck! I and the team, too, have a business meeting tonight with the client. I'll be getting ready as well in a few," I told him as I got up from the tub. "Good luck, baby! I love you! Gotta go," he hanged up not waiting for me to say anything back.

I started to get ready.
