Me and Chara were still heading to ours... I mean, their house. I don't think I can be considered as full member of their family to say such a thing.
But yet we still spent our walk in complete silence. I mean, Chara didn't talk much with me at all, but now... Now emotions fully left her body. She was looking as walking corpse or something and that was... Unnatural for me. Earlier Chara at least was frustrated at me and hell, that would be a lot of better than this. She definitely tried to hide her emotions, because there was nothing left, but sadness...
I could even still notice how she tries her best just to hold tears that were treacherously forming in the corners of her eyes. Poor Chara was ready to fall on the ground and cry, but her force of will didn't let her to.
With every second passing by I was feeling nothing, but increasing anger to this new human. Whatever he did nor whatever reason he did something like that - he must pay...
Soon we reached home and Asriel was sitting on sofa and already waiting for both of us to finally come back. Looks like he was really impatient to hear the truth... Actually me too, but Chara was obviously not willing to tell it... And I can't judge her.
- FINALLY! - Asriel exclaimed in frustration, - What took you so long? Mind to tell me what's going on?!
- Not now, Rei... - Chara answered coldly. Even colder than winter in the Snowdin, because her voice made me shiver a bit.
- CHARA, COME ON! DON'T BE SO LAZY! - Asriel moaned, but Chara looked at him... But not with anger. She glared at him with unemotional and cold stare, but looks like that scared Asriel even more than her "demonic" eyes, - Oh... Okay then...
- Guess I'm sleeping on sofa again, - I only sighed, but suddenly Chara grabbed my hand before I was able to sit down and started to drag into her room, - H-hey! What the heck?!
I got a bit frustrated, but Chara didn't let me go nor said anything. But I decided to not resist that as well. She's probably stronger than me anyway.
Chara opened the door and almost threw me into her room, but thankfully, I succeeded in keeping my balance.
- Chara, what the hell? - I asked her in little anger while she rudly closed her door, - I know you're feeling bad right now, but that's just ru-
- Please... - she whispered that made me shut up because of surprise. Chara talk to me with such a calm tone? Impossible. Looks like she didn't believe that she was saying something like that, - I need... I need to talk.
- Just to talk?
- Is that so surprising?
- No, not really, just... - I was really surprised, because earlier I was basically forcing her to talk, but now... - Nevermind.
I tried to sit on mattress, but then realised and looked at Chara.
- You don't mind if I sit here?
- No, - she quitely answered and sat near me.
- So... What do you want to talk about?
- About him... - after this her voice became even more depressed, - You always wanted to know more about him and me. And I always was silent about this topic...
- Well, yes. But what made you reconsider this?
- I... - Chara tried to answer, but then went silent again. After a few moments she asked, - Why did you do that in the first place?
- What? - I got confused, - Did what?
- You protected me. I was never kind to you for you to act like that. So why?
