Chara's POV
After such intense battle I was coming back to my house. I barely managed to survive back there and my survival is thanks to DOA... I suppose. But now I wasn't filled with hatred and willing to kill that thing.
Well... I wasn't just letting go my idea of revenge to that thing, but killing it knowing the fact that it contains DOA's soul... If I'll manage to kill it, my partner will die with it which I can't allow. But now I was just confused...
Why did that thing consumed human soul in the first place? I mean, I can understand if MONSTER consumes it, but that was another human. Unlike in monster's situation - humans don't have much of a profit consuming souls of each other.
And yet they're doing this on the surface
But why did that thing needed only that one soul?
I need to think how to separate their souls...
Finally I entered my house and noticed how my mom was treating Asriel's wounds that Creature dealt to him. But as soon as their heard silent door creak, they both looked at me.
- CHARA! - Asriel shouted anxiously.
- MY DEAR! - Toriel exclaimed as well and rushed to me. Her eyes were showing so much worry about me, so much fear... And also a little rage that showed up in sudden hit on back of my head, - WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! HOW COULD YOU FACE THAT THING ALONE?! I THANK THE STARS THAT YOU'RE ALIVE!
- M-mom! - I tried to interrupt her, - I had everything under my control!
- No, you didn't! - Toriel shouted in response, but even through her rage she started to heal my wound on shoulder, - What if you would die there? Did you even think about us?!
- I... I did. That's one of the reason why I fought it. I didn't succeed, but I managed to know something...
- What is it? - Toriel was still worried, but also interested.
As soon as she finished with my wound and I sat on sofa, they both stared at me.
- Mom... Did you... Told Asriel about DOA?
- What? - Asriel asked with little surprise and also worry. I just sighned. Looks like my mom didn't find strength to tell him that, - My mom said that... He's alive. You saved him! ... Right?
My mom just fearly looked away from me and Asriel.
- Look, Rei... We... We tried to save him, but that thing. It was far more stronger than any of us, so we... We lost. And...
I was trying to continue, but also I could notice how Asriel's eyes slowly started to become more wet and more afraid.
- He... He's alive, right?
- Technically, yes... - I said unsurely, - But physically...
- What do you mean "technically"? - Toriel asked with confusion.
- His soul is still alive. It's just not in his body. That thing consumed it.
- W-what?! - Asriel shouted in shock and fear, - Does that mean... That thing actually managed to... To...
- He's not dead, Rei, okay!? - I tried to calm him down before he'll cry a river, - Mom, is that possible to reconnect soul and body if it got... Separated?
- It's... It's very strange question, my child, - Toriel stated.
- Is it possible?
- Maybe... - Toriel scratched back of her head with confusion, - I never ever did such a thing to someone. So there is no guarantee this will work out. Besides, how can you be so sure that his soul in that thing?
