Kelly could not get paternity leave but gabby had come back to Chicago and was gonna be staying with Stella while kelly was at work and also so Stella had someone to interact with. Stella was scared every time that kelly left because she didn't want to have the same thing that happened to heather Darden to happen to her. Even though she never met heather she heard what happen to her and how she lost her husband andy in the line of duty back in 2012 and that caused problems for heather and her boys in the future and that's why Casey had to leave for Oregon because the Darden boys needed help due to there mother starting to become MIA. As much as Stella wanted to call Boden and tell kelly to be safer she couldn't because she didn't want kelly to get mad at her because of that because kelly loved his job. Cindy also came to a couple of times to check on Stella and give her advice since she has 5 kids and has been through the rodeo of having a newborn. Cindy also knows the struggles of being scared every time Herrman leaves for work because she doesn't know if he's going to come home so she was able to comfort Stella in that way because this was Stella's first time not working with kelly. Stella started to have a hard time breathing one morning and gabby saw that but before she could get to Stella Stella had passed out and Gabby called 911 and kelly.
