"So what's with Ross and Rachel"?
Asked Chandler as he peeled the skin of the potatoes.
The gang were hanging out at the no.20 apartment. Monica being the host was busy making the dinner for the gang. Joey sat at the kitchen counter and helped himself with Monica's freshly baked cookies while pheobe entertained him with the story about how she stabbed a cop on her early days in the city. And that's when Chandler caught them off guard by his sudden quest.
"What do you mean"? Asked Monica surprised.
"Are you guys blind or something? Rachel and Ross are awfully close these days".
Chandler paused for a moment as the gang looked over to the living room.
Ross and Rachel were sitting next to each other. They were solving one cross word puzzle unaware of the little conversation that their friends is having about them.
"I mean.. look at them! They both are behaving like they are oblivious to our presence, you know". Chandler continued.
"We planned one guys night last week and Ross totally ditched us as he was busy having a dinner with Rachel. Remember joey"?
Suddenly Joey remembered the incident.
" He is right Monica. There is something with Ross and Rachel. I mean.. he missed 'Die hard' night for a mere dinner" Joey scoffed.
"So, he missed a movie for a dinner. What's the big deal"? Asked Monica nonchalantly as she rolled the lasagna sheets.
Joey looked at Monica with a stunned expression.
"What do you mean? It's not just a movie. Its Die Hard. How could he say no to Die hard"? Said Joey as he dramatically punched the kitchen counter.
"Chandler I am really disappointed with your girlfriend. Are you sure, you still wanna go out with her. There are other girls out there you know"? Joey winked at him.
Chandler rolled his eyes.
"Guys, we are drifting away from the subject". He reminded them.
Pheobe still seemed unconvinced.
"I dont know Chandler. I mean.. they are roommates. I think that explains the closeness between them". She explained.
"Why you are not getting this? This is Ross.. we are talking about. And I am his oldest friend. I know him better than any one of you".
Monica cleared her throat indicating her disagreement.
"Excuse me I am his Sister" She reminded him.
"After you Honey". He sheepishly smiled at his girlfriend.
"The point is.. Ross was always obsessed with Rachel. He always talked about her in college. Well.. before Carol. And was 'this' close to write a poem about the wonder that Rachel is".
Others smirked at his remark.
"Oh wow.. I always knew he had a crush on her. But never thought that it's that serious". Monica seemed surprised at his revelation.
They looked over to the living room to see a laughing Ross and Rachel. They seemed so comfortable with each other.
Chandler grinned at the sight. Little did the others knew about how much adoration and love Ross had for her apart from him.
