My mouth fell open, "Excuse me?!"

"You heard me," Hotch repeated for the third time.

I shook my head, "But I literally just came back from the injury, I have no experience in this, I mean surely Emily is better suitable-"

"I want you." Hotch interrupted, looking at me seriously, "It's decided."

I exhaled as I shook my head, "There's no way out of this, is there?"

Hotch shook his head, and I heard Derek snigger from behind me, "What do I need to do? I mean what's the plan?"

"We won't need to change our identities; we just won't be FBI agents. The whole story is that we are arguing in the store, bring up the baby that you're carrying within the argument. Then drive back to a house which is being set up for us. We'll stay there until, hopefully, he comes after us. The team and SWAT will take him down, and that'll be it." Hotch informed simply.

I swallowed with a nod, "Right. So, what are the chances of us being killed?"

"Zero," Hotch answered immediately.

"You got this Ada," JJ spoke from beside me in our room at the police precinct, "I've got some clothes that you can wear. The other victims didn't physically look pregnant so you're all sorted there."

I turned to her with a smile, "Okay then, let's do this shit."

"I love JJ, but I hate this shirt," I mumbled as we sat in the back of a concealed FBI truck, around the corner from the convenience store.

Hotch looked at me, "What's wrong with it?"

"The colour completely drowns me out, I mean you just don't wear baby pink when you have my complexion," I responded.

His eyes scanned my top, lingering somewhere that I couldn't confirm, then moved back up to my face, "I think you look nice."

I scoffed, "Well thank you husband, but I think you may need to work on your complimenting skills in public."

Hotch chuckled, "Yes darling."

I could have passed out right there and then.

"You are okay with this, right? I know I kind of forced you into this whole thing, but if you really are uncomfortable then you don't have to go through with it." Hotch spoke.

I shook my head, "I'm good, I have my knight in shining armour to protect me." I teased as I shot him a smile.

The doors to the truck opened as Penelope walked in with earpieces in her hand, "Gnomeo and Juliet, here you go, the team and I will be able to hear everything you say, and we will be able to talk to you as well. You can only take them out for bathroom antics, okay?"

I nodded, putting in the nude-coloured earpiece.

"Are you guys ready?" She asked excitedly as we stood up and stepped out of the van.
