Ada's POV

"And then they fall back out of the wardrobe, but instead of their adult selves, they are back at the ages they were when they first went in; because the time in Narnia doesn't move at the same rate as in the real world," I explain enthusiastically as I tie my shoelaces.

I look up from where I sit on the bottom step of the stairwell, Aaron nodding slowly as he leans against the wall. "I just can't believe you've never seen the film," I shake my head as I stand up, "Or read the books even, it's a crime."

He passes me my bag, "Well, I don't think I need to, based on the 2-hour comprehensive retelling that you just gave me."

"Hey," I point at him, "You asked."

"No," He shook his head as he walked me to the door, "I asked 'what other films has James McAvoy been in?' I never asked for what you just put me through."

I narrowed my eyes at him, "You should be grateful I'm doing this for free, I can get paid to read to elders at the hospital down the road."

He laughed sarcastically, opening the door, "And with that one, feel free to leave."

I mocked anger, "Really? Kicking out your true love? This is why men shouldn't have rights."

"In many ways, I agree with that," He sighs, "Now come here."

He opened his arms, and I walked over to him reluctantly, wrapping my arms around his torso and resting my head on his shoulder as he enclosed me in his grasp. I let out a breath, closing my eyes as I let myself relax into him. When I pulled away, his hand came up to stroke my cheek, pulling me into a soft goodbye kiss.

"I'll see you next week at work?" I asked with a small smile.

"That you will." He responded, "Say hello to the family for me."

I nodded, stepping outside and walking backwards down the pathway, calling out, "Vice versa."

He watched me with concerned eyebrows, shouting out, "Watch where you're walking."

"I'm fine," I yelled back, trying to conceal how I almost lost my footing on a pebble. Aaron shook his head exasperatedly, "I'm fine." I repeated with a smile, finally reaching my car.

Blowing him a kiss, I opened the door and got in, throwing my bag on the passenger seat, beginning the drive back home.

I pull onto the drive, turn the engine off and get out, grabbing my bag from the other seat. As I walk over to the front door, the low noise of footsteps makes me turn around. I grab my keys and hold them between my knuckles as I look around the bushes which align the drive.

"Hello Ada, long time no see."

Startled, I turn around quickly at the voice, once I see who it is, I grit out, "Louis, what the hell are you doing here?"
