Well, Jennie hadn't planned on attending Friday's party, but...

"Jennie, come on! You can't sit out on a party that the massive dyke's going to! You'll like, take a huge step down in popularity!" Is what Nayeon and Irene told her.

Jennie couldn't give much of a damn about popularity...even though she seemed like a typical high school mean girl, the only reason she gained "popularity" in the first place was because of her honour student status and control-freak tendencies. Although her looks certainly helped.

Honestly, she was curious about what Lisa was going to be doing there. She must be warming up to the school quickly to already be invited to a big party.

I guess it'll keep my mind off schoolwork, she thought, even though she'd been using her studies to keep her mind off drama in return. Sometimes she just wanted to stay in bed and avoid thinking about any of it.

But here she was, on a Friday night, pulling up in Nayeon's SUV to what looked like an already raging house party. It was more packed than Jennie had expected with people even loitering on the front lawn and by their parked cars.

Jennie and her two friends headed up to the front door. Already, they could hardly make their way into the house due to the amount of people hanging around in the foyer. Jennie didn't recognize almost anyone there, some of them even looked like college students.

God, I hate these things, she thought. Why did I bother coming again?

The music from the living room stereo system was blaring so loud that Jennie was sure the party would get busted for noise complaints before it ended.

"Come on, let's get some drinks," Nayeon yelled to her and Irene, leading the two of them into the kitchen.

People were walking around with mystery liquid that Jennie could only assume was liquor. There was a large pitcher of "punch" on the kitchen counter, and Nayeon and Irene quickly helped themselves to it.

"Aren't you going to have some?" Irene asked Jennie.

"Someone's got to be able to drive us out of here later, bitch," Jennie retorted. Plus, she would have to watch over her reckless groupies. They were much more of the partying type than Jennie was.

Also, though it was lame to admit, Jennie had never had a sip of alcohol in her life, and this certainly wasn't the place to give it a go.

After grabbing their plastic cups full of spiked punch, the three girls headed to the living room where people were dancing or awkwardly standing around
talking.

Jennie was regretting coming to the party more and more as she had to forcibly pry her friends from grinding on strangers or fending off sleazy flirts.

Jennie had searched around, but there was no sight of Lisa or those two weirdos she normally hung out with.

Did she even come?

Jennie shook the thought out of her head and ignored the pang of disappointment she felt. Who cares anyway? Less time I'll have to look at the bitch!

Jennie did her best to keep her friends from going overboard with the alcohol and thought that while Nayeon seemed to be doing fine, Irene was getting a little out of control.

After forcing her friend to sit down on the couch and drink some water, she said, "Maybe we should get going pretty soo-"

But her sentence was interrupted when she caught something ominous in the corner of her eye. Slowly turning her head, she caught sight of a familiar face in the crowd, a pair of eyes staring her down. A tall male figure started to make his way over from the other side of the room, and Jennie's heart almost pounded out of her chest.

Her mouth went completely dry, and a cold sweat creeped over every inch of her skin.

"Are you feeling alright, Jennie?" Nayeon yelled over the music. "You got all pale all of a sudden."

Jennie could hardly conjure up a response. Her brain switched into full panic mode, and she wanted nothing more than to be as far away from here as possible. But she needed to act faster than trying to explain the situation to her ignorant friends.

"Uh, yeah, I'm just gonna go to the bathroom really quick," she muttered. However, instead of running up the stairs to find a bathroom, she rushed to the front door of the house, ignoring Nayeon's protests.

The cold air of the outside was enough to allow Jennie to breathe again, but she was now at a point where she could vomit at any second. She nearly tripped down the steps of the front porch as she kept glancing behind her. He was certainly going to follow her in some inconspicuous manner.

Some boys on the front lawn catcalled her, but Jennie could hardly process anything but pure panic. She nearly sprinting across the yard to the sidewalk. She had half a mind to take Nayeon's car and just leave, but she didn't have the keys to it anyway.

She was trapped.

As she started basically running down the sidewalk, her foot got caught in a crack and she slammed to the concrete. Scraped up, tears began running down Jennie's cheeks, and she was nearly hyperventilating. She pulled herself back to her feet and could swear she kept seeing the same ominous male figure out of the corner of her eye.

Fuck, fuck fuck! I need to get out of here!
