Night was still relatively cold in March, and Jennie was getting a full taste of the chilly air as she stood next to her car by the park.

Ah, hurry up! She thought, her teeth chattering.

Perhaps this was all just a very bad idea. It was completely on a whim, and to the well-planned, meticulous Jennie, anything done on a whim was a bad idea.

And yet, here she was, freezing her ass off as she waited to meet her ex-girlfriend to come reopen old wounds.

There were better things to do on a Friday night.

But when she finally caught sight of the tall blonde, jogging through across the street to the park's interior, her heart went wild. Jennie couldn't bring herself to confront Lisa during school hours - it was a blessing their sociology class had been cancelled. But there was no more dodging around the subject, and Jennie knew this talk had to take happen now.

As Lisa ran up to her, the memory of the last time they met in this location flashed before Jennie's eyes. She blushed, remembering their little night rendezvous only days after getting together and kissing for the first time.

"Hey, sorry it took so long," Lisa gasped, out of breath.

"You didn't have to literally run here," Jennie muttered, blushing at their now close proximity.

"I was just - hah - surprised," the taller girl breathed. "I thought you didn't want to talk to me at all after yesterday."

"Oh, give me some credit," Jennie snapped, trying to mask her embarrassment. "I was just waiting for the right time or place. And school obviously wasn't going to cut it."

"Yeah, I can understand that" Lisa said, brushing stray hairs from her face.

Jennie took a moment to take in the other girl's appearance. She was definitely dishevelled, wearing a haphazardly thrown-on hoodie and sweatpants. Her hair was tied up as usual, but it was messy with strands sticking up left and right. It definitely reminded Jennie of the way she looked the last time they had an unplanned meeting in the park.

"I know I look like shit," Lisa remarked, noticing Jennie's wandering gaze.

"N-no, that's not what I-" Jennie coughed awkwardly.

"Look, let's just get down to business. We've been avoiding this topic long enough."

"I agree."

"Right, so..."

Fuck, where did Jennie even start? This was so horribly awkward and impulsive. Who should talk about their feelings first? The brunette was afraid to do so in the event that Lisa didn't feel the same way she did. If that happened, it would be difficult to recover from.

Lisa appeared to be searching for the right words herself. But neither of them was making the first move and it was getting colder by the second.

"Ah, come on Jennie, you're shivering like crazy," Lisa said. Jennie hardly had time to react before the tall blonde lifted her arms to take her hoodie off. She held it the neck hole open to slide over Jennie's head, stepping forward to do so.

But Jennie stepped back, putting her arms up defensively.

"N-no, I don't need it!" she warned. Lisa was only wearing a t-shirt underneath and was certain to get cold without the hoodie. And yet she removed it without a second thought, like it was automatic.

Lisa paused, blinking, obviously caught off guard by the outburst.

"See, this is why I hate you!" Jennie yelled, suddenly riled up. Her entire body was on fire, shaken by the kind gesture shown amidst several months of animosity.
