Lexi
The friends we have as children shape us. Some of them we keep forever, some of them we lose along the way... but all of them leave something behind... or in his case, take something as they leave.
Mason Jennings held my heart in his hands at...

My phone dings for the 4th time as I leave my evening Early Modern History lecture, earning me another disapproving look from my lecturer who's closing speech was interrupted by the first 2.
I mentally groan as I look at who they're from.

I just about read his last text as I opened the door to my apartment before I was rushed by Soph and dragged into the living room.
"We need to work on your people skills Soph. It's not polite to drag people through rooms." I quip as I'm thrust into the chaos that is Lia arguing with Kate who has a black leather skirt in her hands.
"The dragging was necessary so you can't bolt." She replied.
"Why would I bolt?"
"Because we're meeting up with the hockey players and now Lia is screaming bloody murder about us hanging out with them again."
"And that means I would bolt because..."
"Because you swore off hockey parties?"
"Indeed I did which is exactly why I won't be bolting but will be leisurely strolling to my bed with my Doritos and sending you off with condoms and a curfew."
"Mason asked if you'd be coming specifically." She pointed out, an interested expression on her face.
"Then Mason will have to be disappointed." I deadpanned.
"It's bad enough that Soph is shacking up with Seb. Why do you have to be hypnotised by hockey dick too?!" Lia screeches, drawing my attention to her.
"I'm not hypnotised by anyone's dick!" Kate defended.
"Oh yeah because you haven't been riding Sam's since the first week or anything." Lia snapped back.
"Jesus Lia I've not been sleeping with Sam! Even if I had I wouldn't deserve you throwing it back in my face like that."
"What's your problem Lia?" Soph jumps in.
"My problem is we're suddenly best buddies with players who make fun of my sport, our sport" she corrects looking at me, "and the guys are assholes! Mason goes out of his way to hurt Lexi, Anthony doesn't care about anyone but himself and fucking Hugo treats girls like they're expendable pieces of meat who exist to fulfil his needs and then can be tossed away like a prostitute whose hour is up. The other two encourage them or at the very least do nothing to stop them from being 1st class dickheads." Lia's practically spitting her anger at us.
