Lexi
The friends we have as children shape us. Some of them we keep forever, some of them we lose along the way... but all of them leave something behind... or in his case, take something as they leave.

ONE MONTH LATER
"Bombs away assholes" Anthony hollers as he throws his duffel bag over the balcony for the first floor of the house.
"You're walking downstairs anyway you daft prick." Seb yells from where he stands, only an inch or two shy of where the bag lands.
"I'm about to spend 2 weeks held against my will following my mother's 'festive family fun' schedule. Let me throw things Garcia." Anthony groans as he trudges down the stairs.
"The more you complain every year, the more extravagant she makes the plans Anthony." Lia points out, "She doesn't want to let her baby boy grow up."
The girls packed and stayed over here last night for a festive goodbye movie night. Since Lexi and I got together, we've naturally become one big group which both Seb and Sophia are snotty about since they've been dating over a year already and yet we didn't all hang out until recently.
It's mostly harmoneous between everyone. Anthony and Lia have the ususal cousin banter and her and Hugo take cheap shots at each other for god knows what reason.
I ignore their antics for the most part. I've been a little distracted by the blonde bombshell sitting in my lap.
She's absentmindedly scratching the back of my neck as she watches the Grinch on our TV. It would be so easy to tease her with light neck kisses from my position but she's engrossed in the film and I like watching her lose herself in it.
"Oh don't you start." Anthony protests interrupting my bliss, "It's bad enough my Mom still smooshes my cheeks when she says it."
Lia walks up to him and does just that, using a baby voice mock him, "But it's just so cute."
Anthony bats her away and scowls, "It's not fair you don't have a nickname I get to torture you with."
Lia blows him a sarcastic kiss and saunters away into the kitchen.
Sam jumps over the back of the sofa and settles down next to Lexi and I.
"You got an answer for my Mom Turner?" He asks and I both mentally and physically slap my forehead.
"Your Mom?" Lexi queries, "I wasn't aware I'd been asked a question?"
Sam looks to me and the penny drops, "Oh... you haven't.... -ah"
Dumbass.
"Well I will leave you to it then" he says awkwardly as he stands from the sofa and backs away.
Lexi turns back to face me, "Leave you to what?"
"Soooo you know how I've spent Christmas at Sam's for the last few years?"
"Yeah..."
"Well his Mom was a little upset I didn't go to Thanksgiving this year and so I may have promised I wouldn't miss Christmas to make it up to her."
