Monday morning I went to breakfast at 7am, 2 hours before classes started.
I needed to check on my generals progress of obtaining my new minions. I had to get to as many of the kids as I could before Riddle got the chance to sink his little claws into them.
Lily came down first, with two others behind her. An older boy with Barbie blond hair and another boy around the same age with round glasses and brown lanky hair and a striking face.
"Impel, good morning! These are my new friends Gasperd Shingleton and Xenophilius Lovegood." Lily greeted cheerily as she gestured to the lanky haired boy then the blond one.
I studied the both of them curiously and watched with amusement as they both shuddered under the touch of my magic. "A pleasure." I murmured pleasantly.
Xenophillius only really needed to take one look at me before he was metaphorically eating out of my palms. "You look like a fae" he gasped in awe. "But you don't give off the same feel as...wow what on earth are you?" He beamed enthusiastically. He was bursting with inquisitive interest and passion.
Wow that's Luna's Dad!
I felt that familiar excitement at meeting characters I loved heat my cheeks. "I am quarter Imp" I said with just a bit of timidity.
Okay, I needed to get myself back into my Lord Imp persona. No acting like a fan girl just because a character immediately likes you off the bat. Lord Imp is never shy! I scolded myself a little more as Xenophilius proceeded to enthuse about the Imp tribes. Weird that he knew so much about them. Did people actually write the truth about the Imps in the war then?
I heard a scoff from behind me. I furrowed my brows at the sound and glanced back to see Riddle at his high table looking towards us with disdain. His face smoothed out immediately, and I wondered if the expression was ever there as he smiled towards us charmingly.
His skin was pale and his eyes were a color of red that was nearly identical to my own hair color. He was actually a bit terrifying to look at actually. But gods was he still handsome.
Yum.
I smiled back politely and turned back just as James burst through the doors. Xenophilius' chatter went away as he decided to point his nonstop spiel on creature history to his friend Gasperd.
"Lord Imp! I have arrived with new loyal subjects for you!" James yelled out as he sauntered through the hall brazenly. He yelled it with such confidence, and a smile so charming that every student took notice and giggled at his antics. His entrance interrupted dozens of conversations.
Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew followed behind him. Remus was flushed with embarrassment while Peter just looked anxious. I met the mousy boys terrified gaze and let my magic swirl around him threateningly. He squeaked and nearly pissed himself in fear before I calmly looked towards Remus with a sugared smile.
Remus startled and stared at me with trepidation as he followed at James' heels. James came up to me and looked proud of himself. I ruffled his hair appreciatively before nodding at the other two. Peter hid behind Remus so he wouldn't have to greet me.
I felt the urge to follow the rat and play with him like a snake chases a mouse and made to take a step closer to have a bit of fun.
Of course, that's when Severus came in with a small crowd of Slytherins behind him and Sirius at his side as an equal. It was the whole of Severus' old gang from the books. Mulciber, Avery, Wilkes, and Rosier.
Lily came to stand beside me and whispered to leave the rat alone while in public. Well she said it in a nicer way than that. But I like to interpret certain things my own way. I glanced towards Peter before whispering back. "Look at him! He's like a parasite feeding off a bigger fish. He's making poor Remus uncomfortable. I can only return the favour can't I?"
