Chapter 6

Trellis's P.O.V
2 guards walked me up to my home. I was tied up and exhausted. "Let go of me. I don't want to see him!" I told the guards. "You better start behaving, boy. Your father will hurt you worse than us, I swear to you. And I for one, hope he does." One of the guards said. "Just remember who you're talking to, servant." I threatened. The guard then punched me hard in the face, knocking me down to the ground. "That was done on the king's orders. The next time I'm going to break something. Got it." He said. We walked up to the door of the palace and waited. "Who goes there?" A voice asked. "Prince Trellis is here to see his father, the elf king." The guard replied.

"Ah! Welcome back, sir" a small elf, Logi said. We walked into the palace and the guards shoved me down. "I guess it should come as no surprise to see that my son has failed me again." My father, the elf king said. "I haven't failed. Understand, father, these things take time." I replied. "You have had plenty of time. What you need now is the aid of experience. Lugar will be joining you on your return mission to make sure the job get done." Father said. "I can do this on my own." I argued back. "Lugar will help you." Father said. "You know that I work alone!" I said. "Why do you resist? Did you not ask me to lend you more support?" He asked
"I asked for foot soldiers, not a chaperone!" I replied. "Lugar fights with the strength of 10 soldiers. He will serve you well." Father said.

"You trust him more than you trust me." I said. I was very annoyed at my father. I feel like he isn't my father at all. "And why do you think that?" He asked me. I growled and walked off. I sighed and that girl with H/c hair and e/c eyes was in my head again. I groaned and kept walking.

We were heading to Kanalis to help our mother. Emily was with her, Navin was with Cogsley, Miskit was making breakfast and I was in the library reading about Alledia. I sighed and remembered that elf's eyes. They looked frightened and confused. I felt guilty, then Thedore came in with a plate of bacon and scrambled eggs. "We'll be arriving in Kanalis soon." Thedore says. "Thank you, Thedore." I replied and he left. I turned the page and saw some notes about a creature called a Dark scout. "That was the thing that tried to control Emily. I wonder if that creature was controlling that poor elf..." I mumbled to myself.

I noticed my amulet hasn't spoken. I held it and closed my eyes. "Talk to me." I ordered. "They're coming to kill you and your sister." The amulet said. "Who is?" I asked. "The elf prince and other elves. By not joining them, you and your sister have become sworn enemies. You and your sister is too powerful for them to leave you alone. Be careful young mistress." And the amulet stopped glowing. I looked out the window and saw a city. I ate my breakfast and stood at the window. "We're here. So this is Kanalis." I said with a smile. The landscape was amazing. The waterfall was shimmering and the city was colorful. I then noticed elves looking at the house and I also noticed the same elf from a while ago.

We watched the Charanon house dock and Lugar smirked. "Should we attack them now, sir?" The guard that was with us asked. "Not yet. Have someone follow them. We will need to separate them from their house in order to take it over." Lugar replys. He turned around to face me and I wasn't happy. At all. "Now watch carefully, Trellis. I'm going to show you how to earn your father's trust." Lugar said and I growled softly. 'I wish he would stop talking about my father already...'

We stopped moving and I walked to the front of the house. "Now, before we step outside, I should probably let you know that many of the citizens here might look quite a bit...different." Miskit explained. I was very confused. 'What?' I thought. "Different? What do you mean, Miskit?" Emily asked him. "Just don't stare at them." Miskit says and he opened the door. The fresh air hit our faces and I smiled. We walked out and I was surprised to see someone that looked odd but not to be rude or anything.
