Another week flies by and my spirits have been higher than they've been in a while. I have my seven friends to thank for that. They all fill my day with such joy and laughter. I don't know what I'd have done without them here. I would have surely fallen into a deep depression.
Lost at sea.
Hoseok would pick flowers and put them in a vase to bring into my room each morning. It became the most adorable routine. Jin would cook me breakfast and bring it to me in bed, he usually followed right behind Hoseok. Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook would often drag me into the little games they play in the palace.
I don't even remember how I got so involved in a game of Mafia, but I sure did. I found out what amazing actors these guys are.
Namjoon bought me a journal and helped me write in it every day. He told me writing out my feelings could be beneficial for me and my healing process. And Yoongi would sit by my side as I'd play our song together and hug me when I'd cry endlessly afterwards. Because now my song was for both of my parents.
My general bows to me as I sit on my throne. "Thank you Shiyuk for updating me on every situation while I was absent. And thank you for stepping in when I couldn't." He smiles and adjusts his glasses that were sliding down his nose. "Of course, my Queen." He bows once more before leaving.
I had held this meeting to be updating on every facet of my kingdom while I was grieving. To my surprise, nothing much has happened. It was peaceful on all fronts. It seemed the country was grieving with me.
"There's one more thing to discuss," Namjoon's voice shouts from the back of the room. He steps out from behind the crowd of my subjects and approaches me, bowing with his head down. "It needs to be between you and your advisors though." I nod to him and announce to the room.
"Enough for today everyone, thank you for coming in and helping me. Until next time."
My subjects, captains, general, scholars and other advisors leave the room. Once the door shuts behind them, my favorite seven people approach me.
They all look quite serious, and I begin to worry. I fear they might have changed their mind about staying.
"W-What is it guys?" My voice is shaking. I'm suddenly terrified. I don't want to lose them. I couldn't handle heartbreak right now, again, so soon.
Namjoon takes it upon himself to become the spokesperson and clears his throat. "About a month ago, the seven of us had a discussion. Some information came to light. Concerning information, for us anyway." My anxiety shifted higher.
My seven beautiful advisors form a close semi-circle in front of me. All their eyes strictly on me.
Namjoon gestures towards everyone. "We...All of us..." He cleared his throat again. "We are in love with you, your majesty. I understand this isn't easy to hear but it is how we feel. I don't know how you might feel about any of us, if anything at all. But we would all like our shot to take you on a date. And if you decide that you prefer one of us over the others, then we will gladly accept your choice."
The room falls silent and all I hear is the thumping heart inside my chest.
"A-All of you?" I stammer out and they all shake their heads. "Even you...Yoongi?" I connect eyes with him. He smiles and nods his head shyly.
I rub my face; this was a lot to take in.
"We're sorry if this is too much for you. But we kept it to ourselves as long as we could. If it's too much of a burden, we can postpone." Namjoon dictates. I remove my face from my hands and look at all of them.
"It's not a burden. If anything, I'm truly honored. You are all incredible men. I'd gladly go on a date with each of you."
Some of them smile and others shift nervously.
"But." I look at each of them, seriously. "If you don't get chosen, you won't leave me, right?"
In unison, they all say "No!"
This was going to be impossible. How could I choose? They were all extraordinary. Any woman would be lucky to find herself in the focus of their eyes. But I was the luckiest of all. I had all of their attention and affection. Unfortunately, that didn't make any of this easier.
"Okay, let's start tomorrow." I smile at them.
"What are your favorite colors?" They look at me confused. "I want to wear a dress in your favorite color." They each take turns to tell me.
While I had their attention, I wanted to make a rule. "One more thing, I want this to be fair. All dates will be held here. We will have dinner, dessert and then dance together. I want to be able to truly choose fairly."
"That makes perfect sense, my Queen." Namjoon smiles and the others agree as well.
