He faltered, what was he supposed to say? How much did he love her? He was still so confused. He had just woken so recently from his sleep to find out that 50 years had passed and that she had died on the same day that she had sealed him. He was slightly confused because when he woke up Kagome was there and she accepted him for all that he was. So did he still love Kikyō? Or did he love Kagome? Did it matter though? He may have promised to protect Kagome and after that promised to go to hell with Kikyō but Kikyō had come first. He had promised to become human and marry her. His promises to his betrothed should come before any other woman... shouldn't it?
"You're hesitating." Her monotone voice whispered in his ear.
She was right, he was hesitating and he decided that he couldn't hesitate anymore. He hadn't proven his love enough to Kikyō in the past that was why Naraku was able to come between them and he decided there was no room for hesitation anymore. He needed to be loyal to Kikyō. "I love you Kikyō, nothing else matters but you."
"Then you must do something for me."
