The sun was barely rising as he made his way into the camp only to see Kagome and Miroku in a suggestive position. At once his jealousy flared as he saw Miroku gently stroking Kagome's hair as she slept leaning on him practically in the monk's lap. "What the hell is happening here?"

"Not what you're thinking." Miroku deadpanned as his lips rose in a smirk.

"What am I supposed to think when I catch the two of you in this position?" Inuyasha snapped as he stood at the edge of their camp glaring at the joyful monk.

Miroku's hand continued its gentle caresses through the sleeping girl's hair and his face became joyful, "Shh, keep your voice down, she's sleeping."

"Miroku..." Inuyasha began to shout.

"Sit!" Kagome cut him off as her eyes opened and she glared at the half-dog demon who had woken her up. "There is no need for you to come stumbling in this early in the morning and waking everyone up with your shouting just because you don't like what you see."

Miroku's hand went back to his side as Kagome moved away so that she could fully stretch her muscles and he eyed the dirt eating hanyō with a malevolent glint in those purple orbs.

"Thank you, Miroku, for taking the second watch last night, especially considering how we were left alone without warning while we slept defenseless against attacks." Kagome's voice was tinged with anger as leaned over to grab some logs to add to the fire so that she could get started on breakfast.

"My pleasure, Kagome, I'm glad you were able to get some sleep in considering you were up most of the night as well." Miroku's voice was filled with amusement at the fate of their erstwhile protector.
