Kagome was shocked, that was perhaps the closest that the Demon Lord had ever come to complimenting a human. Her blue eyes were wide with wonder as she continued to stare at the contemplative gleam in Sesshōmaru's golden eyes.
Her eyes never left the group even as they swept by her as though she was not there. She even managed a small smile at Rin when the young girl turned to look back at her. She was however, surprised when Rin decided to run to her and hand her one of the flowers in her hand before she ran back to the Demon Lord who had paused in his steps until Rin had fallen back into her position.
Kagome looked down at the flower in her hand and smiled softly, how appropriate that Rin would hand her this specific flower, a blue Japanese Iris, a flower that in Ikebana signifies hope and faith. With the words of the Demon Lord echoing in her head as she glanced at the flower in her hand, "Is he right? Am I broken?"
AN: I don't know much about the Japanese art of Ikebana, what I do know about the Blue Japanese Iris I learned from So please don't quote me on this. I was looking for a flower that grew in Japan and still had a meaning tied to it. I know I can look at the Victorian Flower Language but not all those flowers would grow in Japan. So this is me just trying to be respectful.
