He could feel her stiffen and try to pull away from his embrace. He had offended her even though that hadn't been his intention. "I..."
"Your reaction is enough to tell me that you no longer love me, and that you cannot make the sacrifices necessary for us to be with each other. So it's true what I have suspected, you love her, not me, she's stolen everything from me." Her voice held pain as she turned her face away from the half-dog demon. It was the most she could do, she couldn't cry for there was no bodily fluids in a body made of clay.
"No, I love you, I don't love her. If this is what you want, then I will do it for you." Inuyasha was determined not to hurt Kikyō anymore than he had already hurt her even if that meant that he had to destroy Kagome in the process.
