Whisper in the woods

Chapter 6

I awoke with a pounding headache that felt like my head was being repeatedly bashed in with a hammer. It hurt like hell and all I could do was lay on the cold ground and roll around groaning in agony. "Maddison, are you okay?" I heard a soothing voice murmur in my ear but it sounded so distant. I couldn't move my mouth as something covered it and my limbs were bound by ropes. As I pried my crusty eyes open and glanced around at my surroundings everything looked like a blur to me. Light was positioned above my head and shone blindingly bright through the cold room that I lay in.

After a few minutes of constantly blinking my eyes, they adjusted and I saw Adriel hovering over me with a concerned expression. He removed a piece of duct tape from my lips carefully as to not harm me then I let out a sign to know that he was here. Wait, where is here?

"Where are we?" I asked groggily and a frown formed on his lips. He didn't seem awfully happy right now. "You were captured by Jason, he thinks I'm torturing you into giving me information right now" Adriel explained then he began to messily apply make up over my face to make it look lightly bruised which wasn't hard since I could feel the bump forming on my head from where I had been smashed against the tree and dragged off. "How are we going to get out of here, wherever here is" I questioned softly. Adriel already knew that I was ready to run away and leave this life. Start again in the human world to escape our own kind to the best of our ability.

"Tonight I will take you out for 'fresh air' and then we'll run away until we can't keep running. I can't be in this Romeo and Juliet situation, I can see why they both killed themselves" Adriel murmured as he brushed his thumb softly across my cheek, just touching the corner of my lips. "I know right? I thought the same thing" I muttered then groaned as I tried to roll over and hurt my hands. Adriel hastily removed my restraints then began to tie my wrists together and ankles then he sat me on the ripped couch that sat in the corner of the room. "We will escape in 4 hours" Adriel whispered in my ear then kissed me softly and left.

I sat there on the uncomfortable chair in a daze and looked at the room I am stuck in. Concrete walls and floor are all I can see aside from a small sink in the corner of the room with a toilet next to it. I don't get how they expect me to be able to pee when my arms and legs are tied. I mean seriously, how dumb are these rogues?

I glanced around at the blank room, so this was their plan. Keep me in solitary confinement to try to break me, little do they no I enjoy being alone. Not without music or some form of entertainment but I could still handle the loneliness and boredom. I began to hum a song that I've been writing for a little while, just humming the tune then getting into the lyrics. It's funny how music can be such a strong comfort, isn't it?

*Adriel's POV (YAY!!!)*

Oh my moon goddess this is gonna be difficult, my father's guards are all vicious and blood thirsty. If they catch Madison and I we are screwed and I can't live without my mate with me. I ran a shaking hand through my messy hair and groaned. I wish I had Madison in my arms right now to comfort me but I can't let my father know of us being mates, he would kill my Maddie. I growled at the thought of Jason murdering Madison, I would tear his throat out in seconds and have him bleeding to death on the floor. Choking on his own blood as I crushed his lungs under my heavy working boots.

The thought of killing Jason made me feel happy for some messed up reason but I guess it's because he's a threat to the other half of me. The woman that WILL have my children and WILL be faithful to me and only me. She won't talk to messed up psychopaths like Jason or Tim and she won't get killed by some asshole that will do it just to spite me.

"Adriel! Come here!" Jason yelled from his office which is just down the hall from my bedroom. I got up with an exasperated sigh and dragged myself to his office, knocking on the door then entering. "Madison is singing down there, tell her to shut up would you. This is a fortress of torture and darkness, I don't need a girl singing to keep her hopes up. I want you to crush her spirit" Jason snarled then shooed me away. It took all of my restraint to not growl at Jason and turn to kill him. 'He is threatening mate, kill him now!' My wolf whined but I could tell he was angry.

'If you want her to survive and have our pups then I can't act suspicious' a replied to my irritated wolf. 'True, I don't want to wait' my wolf complained, he is such a pain in the ass. 'I am a part of you fool, I can hear your thoughts idiot' my wolf snapped. I simply rolled my eyes at my possessive and grumpy wolf then entered Madison's cell. She was sitting where I left her singing a sweet melody that I understand why my father hates, it's too hopeful and happy for his taste but I think it's amazing.

"You need to stop singing, it's making Jason edgy and he can't stand his prisoners not breaking. Now scream" I instructed as I made a fake slapping sound and screamed profanities at Madison as she faked to scream to pull of the act. I pecked her on the lips before I left her there and acted like what I had done was normal. It wasn't, it was far from normal.

I could never actually hurt my love even if I wanted too. I feel her pain.
