Whisper in the woods

Chapter 9

I woke up with a frown on my face as the sun shone in the open curtains of mine and Adriel's room to land directly on my face. With a growl I rolled over and tossed a pillow violently off of the bed in a moody little hissy fit. "I despise mornings" I grumbled as I crawled out of bed then landed with a loud thud on the hard wooden floor. "Fuuuuuuccccckkkkk" I whined as pain shot up my tail bone and spine.

Suddenly Adriel dashed into the room, "Are you ok baby?" He asked as he rushed to my aid and lifted me so that I sat on the bed. I frowned and shook my head 'no' then pouted as I rubbed my sore ass. He chuckled then shook his head at me, "Oh Maddison you're such a klutz, aren't you?" Adriel laughed then kissed my forehead lightly before picking me up and taking me to the en suite bathroom. He sat me down then watched with hungry eyes as I stripped and got into the warm bath that he had gotten ready for me.

"Hmm so nice" I murmured as I slid down so that my eyes and nose were just above the water making me look like a crocodile hunting its prey. Adriel smiled at me then took off his shirt. I tilted my head to the side curiously as I looked at him, "What are you doing?" I questioned innocently as he then slid his pants to the floor. He grinned slyly at me then said in his best angelic voice, "Having a bath my dearest little Maddie".

The way he said my name sent a shiver down my spine even though I was definitely not cold. He smirked as he noticed the shiver and finished undressing then got in the tub with me. I instinctively backed up to give him space but he came closer, invading my personal space bubble until we were millimetres apart and I could feel his soft skin brushing against mine. He leaned towards my ear and nibbled it momentarily before pulling back with a smile and speaking a few simple words that made my heart race with desire. "You want me, don't you?" Adriel whispered in a husky tone that took my breath away. "You want me to mate you now, dont you? I can see it in your eyes, the way that you smell, you're going into heat my dearest Maddie..." Adriel spoke then grinned at me childishly.

"W-what?" I stammered nervously, was it that obvious? I hadn't told him about the hot flashes of burning desire, I hadn't told him anything and yet, somehow, he knew. "I know you are Maddie, you can't lie and say you aren't because your wolf tells me it's true as well" he chuckled as I mentally cursed my wolf and her eagerness to belong to my soul mate completely, over and over again... The filthy thoughts in my head were killing me as I thought of all the possibilities right now with us alone together, the thoughts that I so desperately hoped would soon be a reality. "Do you want me to take it away? The pain of your heat, the hot flashes, the aching desire, do you want it all gone?" Adriel questioned continuously and his smirk grew wider as I shut my eyes and thought of those little fantasies. He taunted me with them for what felt like an eternity before I managed to reopen my eyes and whisper breathily, "Oh just do it already you tease!".

He chuckled at my moodiness then fulfilled my fantasies better than I could've ever imagined. It was hours before we left our en suite to go down stairs for food. I could hardly walk at all so Adriel carried me down the flight of stairs and sat me down as he fetched food for us. When he returned he grinned widely at me as though he were a child that had just gotten a toy that he would never let anyone else play with or his favourite candy. I blushed and looked to the ground only to have Adriel's soft fingertips brush my chin and force me to look him in the eyes. "Never hide from me, I am your other half and I'll be damned if I miss a second of staring at those gorgeous orbs of emerald, those lips that are redder than the most beautiful rubies, your soft milky skin... I love you Maddison, nothing and no one will change that my love" Adriel whispered as he stared directly into my eyes while his fingers slowly caressed my cheek.

I hadn't noticed I was crying until Adriel swiped away a tear softly and hugged me tightly to his chest, "What's wrong?" he asked as he pulled me closer, if that was even possible. I looked up into his eyes and smiled at him, "I love you too Adriel" I whispered then allowed another sob to escape my lips. He scrunched up his face in confusion then asked worriedly, "Then why are you crying?".

"Because I can't help but feel that this love will be short lived, the war is near and we are targets. Big targets. I can't let you get hurt" I whimpered as another sob racked through me. Adriel said nothing, he sat in silence and cuddled me then kissed all over my face. "No one will hurt you my love, I swear on it" Adriel smiled then kissed me passionately on the lips. It wasn't long before he slipped his tongue into my mouth and squeezed my ass softly which let a moan escape. We would've gone much further if we hadn't heard the uncomfortable cough of Jedediah's wife Mona. She raised an eyebrow at us then sniffed the air and smiled knowingly. "Congratulations" she laughed then left the back room to serve customers at the cafe.

We didn't question how she knew of our mating, we were fairly loud and we probably reeked of sex. We simply blushed at the much older wolf then ate the food that Adriel had grabbed which happened to be 2 pieces of toast coated in honey, my all time favourite breakfast food. Once the food was finished Adriel and I lent a hand at the shop to not seem rude or lazy. The day passed quickly and before we knew it we were going to bed and although Mona and Jedediah said to get a lot of rest we clearly didn't. We stayed up late into the night continuing our earlier "session" until we both passed out in each other's loving embrace.
