CHAPTER 9

"It's open, come in." rinig kong sabi ni Winston mula sa loob ng office niya. Pagpasok ay naabutan ko siyang busy sa harap ng laptop, he didn't bother looking at me. He's so focused.

"Magpapaalam lang ako." I said as I stand in front of his office table. He instantly gaze upon me and raised his brow. Here comes the strict Winston.

"Where to?" sabi nito nang nakataas pa rin ang kilay. Itinigil din nya ang ginagawa at itinuon ang atensyon sa akin. Napangiti ako ng bahagya dahil dito, hindi ko alam kung bakit pero parang nitong mga nakaraang araw ay nagiging uhaw ako sa atensyon ni Winston.

"Brie invited me to Sean's party tomorrow night. I want to go para naman madagdagan yung kakilala ko hehe."

"Who's Sean?" he asked.

"Hmm, he's Brie's celebrity friend and our schoolmate too."

"Celebrity? So it's a big party?" If stares could melt, I'm probably melting right now. He's directly looking at me but I can't determine if he wants me to go or not because his face is just so serious --- and handsome at the same time.

"I guess? He's an actor."

Hindi siya sumagot agad, tinignan nya lang ako ng ilang segundo. Pinag-iisipan pa ba nya? Napakahirap talagang basahin ng isip at galaw ni Winston.

"If you don't want me to go, it's fine." Sabi ko.

He chuckled. "Nah. You can go. Just inform me from time to time, I'll pick you up after the party. Okay?"

"Why?" I asked. Bakit sya na naman ang susundo sa akin? He's been doing that since the last time he picked me up at school kahit available naman na si Kuya Benj.

"What do you mean why? I'm gonna pick you up, that's it. End of conversation." Talaga namang sobrang bilis magbago ng mood nya! Tinanong ko lang naman kung bakit sya ang susundo sa akin?

"Wh-what I mean is Kuya Benj's available naman, bakit hindi sya yung sumundo sa akin?" pagpapaliwanag ko kay Winston na humarap na muli sa laptop nya at nagsimulang mag type. I know he's busy, he's managing his own company and at the same time, my company. He told me that's he's been managing my parents' company since they died and until now, ayaw pa rin nya akong mag manage ng business dahil sabi nya ay masyado pa akong bata. Sinusuklian ko lang naman ang mga ginagawa kaya ayokong maging pabigat.

"What's the difference? Don't you like my driving? Am I too fast or too slow? Or you don't want the wrangler? I can use another car, just tell me."

Whaaat? I look at him, confused. Anong pinagsasabi mo, Winston Van Coulson?

"I don't have any problem with your driving skills or the car itself, what I'm trying to say is I know how busy person you are, pwede mo naman akong ibilin kay Kuya Benj if nag-aalala ka."

"Yes, I'm worried so I'll be the one to pick you up. I'm not gonna argue with you about this, Ksenia. Either you're going to the party and I'll pick you up after, or you're not going at all, choose." he authoratively said. He's so hot when he do that. Omg. Huhu. May daddy issues ba ako?

"Fine. Pick me up, I'll update you." Wala na akong nagawa kaysa naman hindi ako makapunta. Tsaka sa tono ng boses nya, nakakapanghina talaga. Kahit utusan nya ako lagi, parang susundin ko pa rin syang nakangiti.

He gave me a smile na para bang hindi nya ako ginamitan ng authority kanina. I swallowed hard because he looks so cute with that gummy smile.

"Alright then, Lily. Goodnight."

Tumango lamang ako at nagmadaling umalis sa opisina nya. Nagmadali akong pumasok sa kwarto. Only Winston can do this to my heart. It's racing so fast just because he smiled.
