[Max POV]

"Max...do you copy? This is a code red! Do you copy, this is a Code red!" I groaned and reached down to the floor and grabbed my supercom.

"Shut. Up." I said, turning it off after.

I placed it on my nightstand and went to rest my hand on El's back. I looked down at her as she laid on me like a human blanket, sleeping soundly. I had slept just as well, it was nice finally having an actual bed to sleep in, without worrying about getting murdered in my sleep or having to get out of the house at a certain time, just laying here, under the soft sheets, with El. My happy thoughts were interrupted by the phone ringing, I grumbled and scooted from under El letting my feet touch the hardwood floor. I made my way over to Wills dresser and took a minute to locate the phone before I picked up.

"Go away I'm trying to sleep!"

"Don't hang up, it's Will."

"Will? Where are you?"

"I'm at Mikes house. Something really bad has happened, our very lives could be at stake."

"What are you talking about?"

"Just come over, we'll explain everything."

"What?"

"Hurry Max." He hung up, I put the phone down, being left in a confused state.

"What did he say?" El asked sitting up and rubbing her eyes. I looked at her then the phone not having a clear answer.

"At first I thought it was nothing. I mean, I think I just didn't want to believe it. The first time I felt it was at Day Of The Dead." Will said.

"The power went out that night too." Mike said.

"And then I felt it again at the field near Nelson farm the next day. Then again yesterday outside Castle Byers."

"What does it feel like?" I asked.

"It's almost like...You know when you drop on a roller coaster?"

"Yeah." Eliza said.

"Sure." Mike said.

"No." El and I answered. I think they forget El and I had been contained for the majority of our lives...

"It's like everything inside your body is just sinking all at once but...this is worse. Your body goes cold, and you can't breathe. I've felt it before, whenever he was close."

"Whenever who was close?" I asked.

"The Mind Flayer." He said in a near whisper.

"But, I closed the gate." El said.

"I know but...what if he never left? What if we locked him out here...with us?" Will got up and walked over to a table grabbing a sheet of paper and a pastel chalk, we all got up and followed him and watched as he began drawing the mind flayer. "This is him, all of him. A part of him attached itself to me." He wiped his hand across the paper and showed us the leftover chalk on his hand. "My mom got it out of me...and Eleven closed the gate." He flipped the paper over faced down on the table. "But the part that was still in me, what if it's still in our world?" He put his hand down on the paper and lifted it back up leaving his hand print. "In Hawkins."

"I don't understand, the demo-dogs died when El closed the gate. If the brain dies, the body dies." Eliza said.

"We can't take any chances, we need to assume the worst. The Mind Flayers back." Mike said."And if he is, he'd want to attach himself to someone again. A new me."
