The Battle Of Starcourt

[Max POV]

El laid on the ground wailing in pain, I was knelt next to her holding her hand while everyone else's attention was on her leg where something was seen moving around under her skin. "Keep her talking, keep her awake okay?" Jonathan said, I nodded and watched as he got up and took off running.

I felt El's grip on my hand loosen as her screaming wore down, I looked at her as her eyes started to roll back into her sockets, her lids slowly shutting. "Hey, El, stay with us, come on stay with us." I lightly tapped her cheek with my hand making her look up at me her eyes just barley open. Jonathan came running back with a gloves and a knife. He knelt down in front of El slipping the gloves on. I moved behind El to give him more space and laid the top half of her body in my lap, holding her hands in mine.

"Alright. El, this is gonna hurt like hell, okay?" Jonathan said.

"Okay." El whimpered.

"I'm gonna need you to stay real still. Bite down on this." He gave me a wooden spoon to put in Els mouth, letting her bite.

"Holy shit, holy shit." Dustin repeated.

"You're gonna be okay, you'll be okay." I said caressing the knuckles of her hands and kissing her forehead.

Jonathan held the knife above the swollen leg and looked around at everyone then put his focus back down. He inserted the blade and cut deep into the wound, everyone groaned and sweared while El screamed and squeezed my hands the tightest I've ever felt her do so. Jonathan put the knife down and stuck his fingers into the cut he made causing Els screams to become louder.

"Jonathan, stop it!" Nancy said.

"Stop talking!" He replied.

"Stop Jonathan!" I yelled.

"Stop it! Stop it!" El screamed. Nancy pushed Jonathan away making finally stop. "I can do it." El whimpered. She sat up and took her hands out of mine holding one over her leg. Everyone took a step back but I remained where I was.

Whatever was inside her was heard screeching and chattering, I recognized the noise. El winced and wailed and started screaming again, her screams were loud enough to shatter the glass from one of the nearby stores, Mike quickly hovered himself over Will and I to make sure we wouldn't get hit with flying shards.

We looked back up at El and saw a gross slimy creature being carried in the air. She threw it across the room causing it to hit the floor. She started to fall back but before she could hit the floor I came forward catching her in my arms, she grabbed onto me panting, letting out a few quiet cries of pain. Whatever El had thrown tried to crawl away as an attempt to escape but unexpectedly Hopper can in stomping on it, turning it into mush.

"The Mind Flayer, it built this monster in Hawkins, to stop her, to kill her and pave away into our world." Mike said.

"And it almost did, that was just one tiny piece of it." I said.

"How big is this thing?" Hopper asked.

"It's big, thirty feet at least." Jonathan said.

"Yeah, and it kinda destroyed your cabin." Lucas said, Hopper sighed and looked down. "Sorry."

"Okay, so, just to be clear, this...big fleshy spider thing that hurt El, it's some kind of gigantic...weapon?" Steve questioned.

"Yes."

"But instead of screws and metal, The Mind Flayer, made its weapon...with melted people?"

"Yes, exactly." Nancy said.
