Chapter 12

Mike went on to explain about wolves without mates and how he tied into what had happened with Sean.

" Oh, I've heard about wolves that had that problem. I'm glad I didn't." Raven said. Mike nodded.

" My feelings for him were real, but the fact is since we weren't real mates my mind isn't torn and I won't go crazy." Mike explained. Everyone seemed to understand.

Daniela had pulled Carlos aside and explained everything to him. She explained about what she was, and who everyone else was. He seemed to understand her and didn't run. She explained the prophecy and could see on his face the anger as she told him about her having to die.

" Pretty much as long as we stay in our town we are safe. They can't touch us. " Daniela told him. Carlos then gasped, and Daniela looked at him confused.

" Daniela think, were in New York. We're far away from home. You're not safe." He said. Daniela then came to realization and turned to the others.

" We need to get home ! Now!" She said. Maxwell nodded as he read her mind, and they headed back to the hotel to get their things. Once inside their room, they began packing. The room suddenly shook, and everyone began panicking. Black cloaks began filling into the suite and Daniela screamed as darkness covered them all. She grabbed Carlos and pulled him close.

" Can't you and the werewolves see in the dark?" He yelled.

" Not this darkness they can't, but I can." Blake said. He saw one of the members of The Hollow make their way toward Maxwell.

" Max!" He yelled, and Maxwell threw his arms out. He seemed to had sent a telekinetic force wave outwards and knocked everyone to the ground, including his friends.

Suddenly a chilling voice rang through the rooms.

" The witch, handle the witch." It said, and it sounded like nails being dragged across a chalkboard. One of the cloaks moved forward, and the darkness subsided. Blake panicked, and screamed as he used his power to wrap everyone of his friends in darkness and thrust them upwards onto the roof away from the attackers. The darkness disappeared, and they were on the roof.

" We have to get out of here!" Raven yelled, the wind had kicked up and clouds were forming over them. Mike stayed close to her and Erick.

" Im sorry, but no one is going anywhere."

Everyone turned and faced one of the cloaks as they levitated up from the side of the building. Maxwells eyes widened as he recognized the voice. He walked forward and stood protectively in front of his friends. Rain began pouring over them, and the wind was blowing at them hard.

" Mother?" He said, his voice straining. The cloak removed its hood and revealed a beautiful woman who resembled Maxwell.

" Yes my child?" She replied. Maxwell grabbed his heart, and a single tear ran down his face.

" Why?" He asked. The wind howling around them, he others looked around and noticed the other members of The Hollow appearing around them.

" Um, max?" Mike said, his clothes billowing in the wind.

" I was needed, so I accepted. Now you must give in, you cannot defeat me." His mother smiled, and even through the howling winds and rain, dark threads began surrounding Maxwell and his friends.

" You must die." His mother whispered.

Maxwell began chanting and the others didn't feel the rain hitting them anymore. They were being protected by some sort of shield. Maxwells mother laughed, and her eyes glowed. His shield began deteriorating, and the cloaks began moving in. Maxwell clasped his hands together and began chanting again. This time, there was a shift in the air and he let out a pained gasp. Blake was about to go to him when his hands suddenly unclasped and he spread them outwards. He thrust his head back and his eyes were completely black.
