AFTER STEVE recovered from the news of his daughter's relationship with the Spider-Man all the available Avengers collected their stuff and prepared to go on mission.
Peter was still blushing cherry red over the revelation. He knew that Victoria hadn't wanted for it to come out yet, but he had no control over Natasha's use of words. Surely she would understand if he explained the situation, he thought to himself.
He was still deep in thought when someone slapped a hand on his shoulder. When he looks up he was met with the dark coloured eyes of Tony Stark. He flashes his pearly white teeth at the teenager.
"Great job, sport. Though I would have personally chosen someone less homicidal." The blush intensified under Tony's comment and Peter didn't know what to respond. To him Victoria wasn't just an assassin or just a Super Soldier. She was Victoria. Dare he say, his Victoria.
Someone who could joke about almost anything. Someone who listened carefully to him whenever he geeked out over anything at all. Someone who didn't judge his interests, desires or goals in life and instead indulged in them. That someone is Victoria to him and he did not care what others thought of them. Even if it were people he held in high regard, such as Tony Stark and Steve Rogers.
"Thanks, but no thanks, Mr. Stark," Peter responds and he walks away to continue preparations. His heart was pounding loudly in his chest as worry grows. He had been on the brunt end of her fighting skills before and knew she could stand her ground, but there was always a limit to power. Who knows what happened to her and if this limit was crossed?
He just hopes it was nothing serious, because he didn't think he could bear losing another person close to him despite the short time they have known each other.

THE HOODED figure was an unrecognizable speck of dark in the mass of people around her, crowding to get to their work or back to their homes. Victoria pulls the hood more over her head, covering her face in shadows. She wasn't recognizable to people like her father was or the millionaire Tony Stark, but she wasn't taking any risks. Nothing should stand in her way of getting to her destination.
New York Avenue 503 was an abandoned warehouse, more a ruin than an actual building. She pushes the door open with her shoulder, keeping her eyes on the look out on the street. Nobody paid any attention to the hooded girl that seemed to know where she is going.
The hinges creaked when the door was opened. Specks of redbrown rust were forcefully ripped from the hinges and falls to the ground. Victoria throws one last glance over her shoulders before she sneaks inside and closes the door behind her.
Blue eyes roam over the eerily silent hall. High above her the roof window was covered in filth. It barely let light through, but it was enough not to be shrouded in complete darkness.
