' 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍 '

"DON'T BE nervous, they'll love you!"

Peter glances sideways at Victoria. His hand seeks out hers and gives it a comforting squeeze. It didn't do much to ease the visibly tense teenager. All her muscles were strained, keeping her body in a constant fight-or-flight mode.

Peter put his keys in the lock of the apartment and pushes the door open. The smell of something sweet and baked immediately hits their noses. The boy rubs his hands in excitement. He had an idea on what they were going to eat and he was very happy.

The teen holds the door open and Victoria steps inside. She studies the insides of the apartment thoroughly. It was pretty cozy. She could already envision Peter lounging on the couch, watching television or playing games on his phone, or being holed up in his room to work on his Spider-Man gear.

Victoria endearingly imagines what he would look like, the tip of his tongue sticking out slightly while a concentrated frown would be displayed on his face. It brings a slight lift of her mouth to her face, barely big enough to call it a smile.

"Peter, is that you?"

A woman leans back from her position by the kitchen, looking at them from around a pillar. She was tall with long, dark brown hair and a pair of glasses. She was wearing a red skirt with a dark blue top. The woman smiles warmly, her dark eyes glimmering with excitement when her gaze switches from Peter to her.

She takes off her apron, puts down the plastic spatula in her hands and rushes towards the front door. May wraps her arms around the stiff teen girl warmly. "Hello! You must be Victoria. I'm so excited to finally meet you!"

Victoria freezes in the woman's arms. She hadn't expected this warm, bear-hug welcome. She awkwardly rests her hands on the woman's back. Her eyes try to find Peter and silently ask for rescue, but Peter seemed way too happy that the first introduction was going well and she wouldn't ruin that for him.

"Hello, Mrs. Parker. It is a pleasure to meet you."

May waves off her apprehensions. "Oh, no need to be so formal. I am just so glad Peter finally introduced you. He talks so much about you, you know?"

Victoria was surprised to hear that. Ignoring her boyfriend's blushing cheeks and soft mutters of protest she asks further. "He does?" Peter tries another attempt at interrupting them by turning to his aunt. "A-aunt May, perhaps we should-"

But of course, May did not hear him and talks over him, speaking as if she was just gossiping with a good girlfriend of hers. "All the time! He adores you, you know?" The assassin blushes as well. In the corner of her eye she could see Peter cringing from embarrasment and she smiles at him.

She reaches out to grab his hand and lace their fingers together. "Well..  I truly love him as well," she says as she meets the dark eyes of her boyfriend. Peter was chewing on his lower lip but smiling as well.
