"Oh my fucking God!" Nia squealed, causing the customers in the store to side eye her but she didn't care.
Sakina had just finished telling Nia the events that had unfolded yesterday and she could tell her friend was beaming from it. She still couldn't believe that Naire had reciprocated her feelings and they'd been that intimate. They were due to have a deep chat soon but Sakina was just happy that they were on the same page.
"You know you step-mommy now, right?" Nia asked, budging Sakina which made her roll her eyes at her friend's comment.
"I'm so attached to Ebony already. She's just the cutest baby ever." Sakina admitted, smiling at the thought of seeing her after work.
Nia smiled as she stared at her friend, Sakina was finally happy and her feelings her reciprocated. From what she'd heard, Naire was someone who carried herself well so she wasn't worried. Plus, Nia knew everyone in the streets and she hadn't heard a single thing about Naire, which was always a great benefit.
"I'm so happy for you, girl." Nia smiled before pulling Sakina into a hug. They swayed side by side before they were interrupted by a customer.
"Sorry." Sakina smiled at the old lady before scanning all the items and packing them into a plastic bag.
"It's okay, sweetheart." The lady smiled while she handed her the money and walked off with the plastic bag.
"You got me so distracted." Sakina smacked her lips before pushing Nia, who mugged her.
They stood behind the till together, scrolling on their phones because everything was already packed and it was almost closing time. The sun was setting and Sakina had even began to yawn because of how tired she was.
"I know you can't wait till the clock hits 10 so you can go back to yo boo." Nia smiled at Sakina who simply rolled her eyes, she couldn't argue because it was true.
"You right." Sakina smiled before going back to her phone, texting Naire who was sending her pictures of Ebony that she'd taken today.
